Wikipedia suggests this is a normal symbol for "line out".

Thanks. I figured it was probably something like that. Dell seems to use the headphones icon everywhere else, so that just struck me as weird.

By the way, I finally got the audio working, although I'm not sure what I did to fix it.

I found a program and downloaded it called System Monitor by AMD. It only shows the gpu and cpu usage, but no power information. I also see there a freeware program https://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/ that shows power usage. But I suspect your are correct that the AMD is using 10-15w when not in use.

    Hi,

my machine 7510 is going good, till no issue on it.

I want to make recovery dvd for it.

but I didn't find Dell Backup and Recovery preinstall on it, why so ?

I have seen "Create recovery media", it Microsoft application.

any one else, we who got Dell B & R preinstall on it ?

can we install now and make recovery media for it ?

    Please share your experience.

    Thanks

Yeah, and your GPU power draw could be even less. I just checked mine again and it is consuming under 7w now at idle

    Windows 10?
I'm not sure about creating a DVD, but here are the instructions for creating a USB drive
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/create-a-recovery-drive

But without even using a USB, when I hold down the left shift key as I click restart, and if I keep the shift key pressed, I eventually get a screen with a few different recovery options and troubleshoot tools. I'm using my original Dell factory installed Windows image by the way.

    - One option is to restore from a previous image file that I may have created myself using Windows Backup/Recovery tool.

    - Another option is to reset my system back to Dell's factory image as it was delivered by Dell. It will wipe all of my programs and data. Selecting this option appears to reboot into another Dells own recovery partition that is on the SSD (if you've retained your original Dell partitions on the original drive that were delivered with your system. Otherwise, if you've formatted your drive or purchased a 3rd party drive, unless you've cloned your original Dell image partition then this option probably isn't available or would fail)

    - Another option is to re-install plain vanilla Windows 10 (not Dells image) and wipe all of my programs and data.

    - Another option is to re-install plain vanilla Windows 10 (not Dells image) and wipe all of my programs but to keep my data.

There are many other menu options too. Reboot into safe mode, go to command prompt, diagnostics, etc.

I've not experimented with any of this other than navigating the menus up to where it asks me if I'm sure I want to continue. I know I need to test my backups to be sure they are restorable. I've made numerous image backups and individual folder/file backups (non imaged) just incase. But I'm afraid to experiment at this point.

There was a Dell option (about $10 or $15 USD) to order the laptop with a USB thumb drive with Recovery Media on it. Booting with that USB it is the same as the recovery media tools you would see if holding shift while clicking restart, except instead of using the pre-installed recovery partition on the SSD or HDD it uses the recover media on the thumb drive. That thumbdrive is good to have incase your SSD is completely trashed or if it doesn't have the recovery partition on it. You can create your own USB thumb drive recovery media using that link above.

Ok, I'll download it and run it. But that great news that it is only consuming 7w.

well after comparing my 7510's 4k IGZIO with a friends XPS 13 that has a sharp IGZIO also - I can confirm the characteristics are similar, however the Matte Coating makes it far worse. Screen Door / Prism effect. Does anyone know if this can be easily removed? I think if I could get rid of this I would be at the very least "satisfied" with it rather than "repulsed" :\

Also, anyone know if a 980m MXM will drop in ? I don't need the Fire/Quaddro for work and the occasional game would be nice!
