Thanks, do you remember who you went with on eBay? It seems like a bit of a mine field. Other than the stuck pixel was the quality of the panel the same as the one you swapped it for?

Yeah, the seller name was "lcdtech889". Other than the stuck pixel issue, it was indeed the same quality as the Dell-sourced IPS panel.

Alright, dropped two 1080p external displays in favor of two external 4K displays and thought I would post because the process of just getting them working was not as straight-forward as I had hoped... Wondering if anyone else has tried it and if it worked out easily for you or not.

The displays are Dell P2715Q 27" 4K displays.

I was using the WD15 dock but obviously that it not going to work, it can only drive one 4K display at 30 Hz. Nontheless, I connected one 4K display to the dock and one to the system directly via miniDP, and I got 60 Hz on the one connected directly and 30 Hz on the one connected to the WD15. Perfect.

I decided that I didn't like 30 Hz, so I went and dug up an ePort dock with a single DisplayPort connector (PR03X) and moved the monitor connected to the WD15 over to the ePort dock. The monitor connected to the ePort dock would only get 30 Hz. In the Windows display settings, I could set it to 60 Hz, and it would work fine for a few seconds, and then flicker like it was disconnected, and come back up at 30 Hz. Some kind of signal problem?

To get both displays at 60 Hz, right now I have them both connected to the system directly, one via miniDP and one via a USB-C to DisplayPort adapter. This means I can't use my USB-C dock anymore, but the monitor itself has a USB hub in it, so I don't have to plug in as many things as I could.

A coworker just received the same monitors and also has a 7510, and also a PR02X dock with two DisplayPort connections. He was previously using the DisplayPort connections to drive two 1080p displays without any trouble, but when we dropped in the 4K displays, they could not be detected. He also had to connect them to the system directly, one via HDMI until we got the USB-C to DisplayPort adapters.

So in two different cases, trying to drive 4K displays off of the ePort dock was a fail. I will try the upcoming Thunderbolt TB16 dock when it is available. Does anyone out there have 4K displays working on the ePort dock at 60 Hz?

Hi, two months ago i bought my 7510 and i love it; i need almost 2 years to find my perfect laptop; but i don't know if this is normal.

I'd just installed a Samsung 960 EVO 500GB NVME SSD; but the laptop is very slow to start Windows, it needs nearly 40 secods, it stops in Dell logo for a while. I had installed last BIOS update and nothing

I'm running a Samsung 960 Pro 1TB NVME as my boot drive and it takes ~24 seconds from cold boot to Windows 10 login prompt. I suspect the 960 EVO should boot nearly as fast as the 960 Pro so there are probably some other things for you to look at.

Just to give you an idea of my setup/settings that may be relevant to boot time:
    - BIOS - 1.9.4
    - Dell E-port+ dock
    - CPU - i7-6920HQ
    - Memory - 4x16GB non-ECC
    - Drive 1 - Samsung 960 Pro 1TB - m.2 slot
    - Drive 2 - Samsung 950 Pro 512GB - m.2 through SATA interposer
    - UEFI Boot (not legacy boot)
    - UEFI Network Stack - Disabled
    - Parallel Port - Disabled (dock specific setting)
    - Serial Port - Disabled (dock specific setting)
    - SATA Operation - AHCI
    - Smart Reporting - Disabled
    - POST Behavior FASTBOOT - Thorough (I imagine Minimal would reduce my boot time below ~24 seconds)
    - Extended BIOS POST Time - 0 seconds

The event sounds like it could be a hardware issue, maybe with the battery or power delivery circuitry. As far as random crashes go, I've had mine for nearly a year (not this exact machine, but the same model) and I've only had one blue screen / hard crash that I can recall, and it was when I was updating NVidia drivers.

If it's only a month old, I would think it's still under warranty even if you purchased through the outlet. Of course the first thing they'll likely want you to try is reinstalling Windows so I'd suggest trying that yourself and if you still have the problem call Dell to get some replacement parts/system shipped out.

FWIW, my M4800 posts a lot more slowly when docked (which makes sense since there's more connected hardware to initialize/poll at boot).

    I have a Samsung 950 Pro.
The time it takes to boot up windows 10 off the 950 is nearly instantaneous.
Seriously, it takes less than a second from selecting it from the boot menu to
    typing in my password.

However, it takes forever to reach that point. I even have the fast bios option
set, and as you've noted it still takes 20-30 seconds. I don't remember exactly,
I just got used to it. I could fiddle with the BIOS to try to speed it up, but everything
else works just fine so I'm just living with it.

Thats the same experience I pretty much get. I basically just accept that BIOS takes long time. I get different results slightly if docked to all my external devices vs undocked, or a fresh boot from completely powered off compared to a restart. But either way it seems BIOS is just long time to finish booting and I've become okay with that.
