At a tech conference and Dell has a booth. They have a 5510!

Snapped a couple of photos with my phone.

I will be taking a much closer look at them tonight. They have one with a Xeon cpu and another with an i7. The Xeon was definately a 45 watt cpu! Both have the Quadro M1000M gpu. One has a larger battery and a 512gb PCIe SSD. The other has a smaller capacity battery, but has a 1tb 2.5" drive as well as the PCIe SSD.

They basically are except that you get the Quadro card with certified drivers and a better warranty/tech support. If you don't need those specific advantages then the it's not worth the extra cost. If you intend to run software that really uses the Quadro card then it's worth it.

Don't they generally come standard w/ 3 year onsite support vs. 1 year for the XPS systems?

Thanks for posting Bokeh. Do you think you might be getting one of the new Precisions at some point? Your past Dell Mobile Precision threads have been phenomenal and well detailed/photographed. I know they are your own purchases, so no pressure. :) I'm pretty set on a Dell 7000 series myself.

The Precision M3800 comes with just a 1 year but otherwise it's the same next day, on-site like other Precision systems.

Absolutely awesome, Bokeh, and thank you!

I have two questions for you:

    1) Are either one of the ones you saw an FHD screen and, if so, can you confirm that it is a matte screen?

    2) How do the screens look, especially about any glare?

Actually, a "bonus" question: Where is the conference?
