I just received my E6400 and tried to run The Company of Heroes on it but I am having no luck. I get immediately after clicking on the game an error message saying

Failed to find a supported hardware rendering device. Ensure that your system meets the minimum requirements for Company of Heroes. Verify that DirectX is properly installed and that you have the latest drivers for your system.

Now I have not played games in about 5 years and never did mods to the computer to be able to run games. So I have two questions:

    1) the obvious one, what I am supposed to do now?

    2) Is this computer ever going to be able to run the game in a minimaly acceptable form? It seems from the suggested requirements that the E6400 with Quadro NVS 160M is not enough.

    Thank you for your help.

hmmm. Try installing the 185.20 geforce drivers from laptopvideo2go. Yours seems like a driver issue since the 160M easily satisfies the requirements for the game.

If I install 185.20 geforce drivers from laptopvideo2go are there any secondary effects? I am new to this. Is there some way to check that there is in fact a problem with the drivers of the 160M?

The laptop says it comes with directX10, isn't this better than 9.0c?

Thank you, BOG, for the instructions. I repeat the question of above, are there possible problems after installing a new driver?

Another question, I guess the 185.20 geforce drivers are better than the drivers that come with the E6400, can you tell me what are the benefits?

Okay, the obvious question is now, what do I loose when I install the 9.0c?
Do I loose the directx10? If so, is it worth?

Company of Heroes can run with Dx10, that's not the problem. Also, CoH is only 2 years old...unless your referencing a different game here.

Yes, it is the game you are mentioning. What do you mean when you say it is only 2 years old?

I install directx 9.0c and still get the same message. So what can it be?
