Yes. And it's got personal information of mine on the hard drive.

Not sure I'd want a replacement to be honest

I know it's unfortunate to have a dead notebook and you only have it for few days :( What you can do is to remove the hard drive and connect it to a USB external case. Then you can format it using Windows. However, I would call Dell and seek their advice first. Removing the HD may void your warranty...

Can't say I'm that surprised it's gone dead after two days. The quality on offer didn't seem to match the £600+ price tag.

Call Dell and see what they can offer you...Do ask for discount as well.

It's worth a try but I doubt they'd be able to offer me any more discount than the £60-£80 cashback I was due on this one, through a third-party site. If Dell did me a new deal, I'd lose that cashback.

I'd be interested in a last generation Latitude on Dell Outlet but, to the best of my knowledge, none of them come with discrete GPU's. I think?

The new Latitudes are beyond my budget.

For those who don't know, the 3350 was finally released in the US today. $599 starting price.

I've read a 3550 review somewhere where it had 9 cell stuck out of the back, so I suppose 8 cell will stick out of the 3350's back as well.

I don't know about the other models in this lineup, but the hard drive in the 3450 is not user replaceable. To do so requires a complete dis-assembly of the laptop, down to the level of removing the system board. According to Dell, doing so voids the warranty. So, if you ever want to install an SSD drive or replace the hard drive due to failure post-warranty, its a major project and is beyond what the average user will want to take on. There's really no excuse for engineering a laptop like this.
