Nope, it's soldered to the mobo. As in all business and most consumer laptops.

That seems to be the trend lately....I wish it had Toshiba's topside speakers but can't stand the look of Toshiba's latest treebark woodgrain chassis finish lol...

    Hi all,

Can anyone tell me if the 3750's nvidia discrete gpu, GT 525M is using DDR3 or DDR5 Ram?

    Thanks

I chatted with a Dell rep and this is what he said:

"The GF108 core of the GT 525M is related to the GF100 core of the GeFore GTX 480M and offers 96 shaders and a 128 Bit memory bus for DDR3."

So I would then assume it is DDR3 and not DDR5. Hope this helps!

Thanks a lot for that quick and very helpful reply bisklimpkit. I was hoping it might have ddr5 so it might run premiere pro cs5 withhardwsre accel but can't seem to find the right laptop.

Has anyone tried upgrading the processor on a vostro3450 from an i5 to an i7? I think Sandy Bridge processors use the same socket now...

Yes, they do. And so will Ivy Bridge processors. I haven't tried it, though.

    [GMT]Demolisher, I don't know if quad-core i7's will be compatible, but my Vostro 3450 came with Core i7-2620M. It's not quad-core though.

Don't know if the question came by already but: is it possible to change the screen to a higher res screen on the Vostro 3550? The screen quality on the 1336*786 screen isn't that good.
