It seems like the screen should be good enough based on more research.

Dell does not whitelist WLAN cards. As long as there are appropriate drivers out, you shouldn't have an issue.

Does anyone know how to install ati mobility HD 5870 driver on m7820 cause i did that m7820 bios mod but unaware if you post to install the driver it was a simple overclock and yea the clocks are stable and i even manage to get to 1.20v @950/1200 clocks but risky cause nothing shows on the screen till you boot up the os so i wont recommend 950+ overclock but im going to try 900/1200 clocks again is it possible to have the 5870m driver installed cause i dont think the m7820 driver software can take advantage of the overclocks since its not optimize for it and another thing is my performance seem kind of low like bf2 all settins maxed out 25-40 avg 27 and mafia maxed 21-36 avg24 and fc3 medium 26-38 avg33 and borderlands2 maxed 27-40 avg30 and gta iv high settings view/detail 0 with 19-50 avg 24 all games was 1200p and i assume its because i dont have battery installed and i only have the charger and dont know watt output all it says (input:100-240v-2.0a 50/60hz Output: 19.5v~~~4.62a) i got off ebay and it was cheap 8$ i assume that its 90w and i know it was ticking when i was gaming with the 950 clocks and less often with the 850 clocks so that is probably the reason im not seeing any performance increase right and which battery part number is the best cause i see a lot of them some 90whr and others 85whr and also anybody know how mush power these screens pull (Samsung LTN170CT08-D01)

What BIOS mod exactly? You flashed 5870M BIOS over it?

Those GPUs are pretty much the same IMHO, you just need to install AMD Catalyst drivers (and not the FirePro ones) so I'd expect that the AMD drivers treat them the same.

The m7820 flash one in page 580 and i tried every way to insatll the 5870m drivers(alienware m17x-r2, newest driver from AMD and the driver in the article) but nothing work. First I uninstall the driver but windows will install the first known m7820 drivers I had install and even tried to install the 5870m drivers over the m7820 drivers but it will only update the HDMI/DP drivers and catalsyt and the newest 5870m beta driver from AMD will fully install the m7820 driver. So after that i went ahead and deleted the automatic driver from windows and did the same thing and got the same results. So need help installing the 5870m drivers, So if you have any ideas I appreciated.

The BIOS on page 580 is from M7820 and not 5870M as far as I can see, just the frequency settings have been modified.

I have installed M7820 in my M6400 and all I did then is download AMD Catalyst drivers for 5870M and installed them and everything worked just fine (that was 6 months ago so can't really say if anything has changed with the drivers later on as I mostly use M6700 now, but I doubt it).
