Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 results

2nd mission (act II) through the city

    1920x1200
    all settings maxed
    45-70 fps
45-55 fps during lots of movement on screen

    1280x1024
    all settings maxed
    60-80 fps

Both resolutions are very playable with no lagging. I am leaving it at 1920x1200.

    Just ran 3DMark06 - 13758 3DMarks

This would make the 3800M about 10% faster than the GTX 280M which was previously the fastest single mobile video card available.

Really nice. thats put it about the same lvl as the mobility HD 5870. really nice.:)

(ATI confirmed 5870 is 128 bit not 256 so thats nulifies the GDDR5 and from the test resault in the G73jh thread speculations are it is a bit above the GTX 280M)

So we might still have the fastest single mobile card even after the mobility HD 5870 comes out :D

Extreme edition processors list the abilty to overclock as a feature. Intel makes sure to push this feature in their sales literature. When you dig a little
deeper you see that Intel leaves the decision to actually make the overclock available up to the manufacturer. So far, I don't see any options or software that would allow the 920 to be overclocked.

On the gpu, nvidia has tools available on their site that allow overclocking of their video cards. I don't know if the software would work with the 3800m, but i am sure someone will let us know soon.

I will say this - my personal observation is that the m6500 runs a lot cooler than the M90/M6300/E6500/xps1730. I will post more on this later, but either the cooling system is very efficient or the cpu and gpu are not throwing off as much heat. I would be interested in seeing how the system responds to the increased thermal load overclocking brings.

At this point i don't have a personal reason to overclock. The games i play run well. Most importantly, encoding high def video in h.264 is much faster - over 4X faster than the M6300. Lightroom and photoshop are also very fast.

Not that i notice. I pushed harder on the keyboard than usual and there is a slight flex to it, but nothing you would get from typing. The keys actually have a good "feel" to them. Solid travel with a tactile click of feedback that your finger can feel but the keys are also quiet. The travel feels slightly shorter than the D series keyboards. The keys feel thy would be less prone to being dislodged like the D series were. I think the keyboard is very much like the ones on the m6400 and xps1730 layout wise. I will compare it to my friend's xps1730
    more closely tomorrow.

Not sure if I like the touchpad. Will see how the drivers help.
