I am a little disappointed with Dell's quality control. I purchased this brand new. The track pad and buttons did not work at all. I removed the kb and kb bezel to find the track pad cable disconnected. Already off to a bad start with a $2300+ laptop.

One key was crooked and not snapped on all the way. That was a simple fix.

I got to tell ya, the packaging sucked too. The M6600 was nicely packaged in its own box, but that box was put inside the shipping box which was way too big. 4"-6" of spacing all around inside. Thankfully FedEx wasn't too rough.

The plastic edge on the right side of the screen is making a clicking noise when pressed lightly. Seems to have a lot of play. It bulges off the the screen when the edge is pressed. The left side is solid, with no play. Anyone else experience this?

I'm going to give a good look-over and make sure that there are not any other probs with it.

Those issues sound like they all resulted from shipping damage. Since one side of the bezel is loose, that corner probably hit the box...if there are no other issues, I wouldn't be too worried.

You could ask for a replacement bezel and back cover to fix the bezel issue, but it's probably not worth the trouble. Ever had to bring your car back to the shop because they fixed one problem and caused another? It's the same with laptops...

maybe. I got a little back light bleed on the bottom right side too, so I may try to get an advanced replacement. I paid $550 for the IPS screen, it should be flawless IMO. I am not a happy camper right now.

A lot of OEMs are sucking with packaging nowadays. Take for example my HP Envy. When it was shipped to me, the laptop was inside a thin velvet like cover inside a box. The backside of the screen was flush with the top of the box. That box was placed inside another box where the same area was flush with the top and that box was placed inside another larger box with again the same area flush with the top. Now, every thing else was well protected but if anything happened to hit the top, the screen would have taken a good amount of the force.

I would push for a replacement.

Will Dell do an advanced replacement if I request the laptop to be replaced instead of returning for refund? Other than the screen bezel clicking, I really like the machine.

    The IPS display is beautiful.
There was keyboard flex in the center, but I saw that the one metal post is designed to snap into a holder on the chassis. Once I did that, it was pretty much gone. The keyboards are probably not being installed properly at the factory.

Dell is sending me a brand new replacement laptop. Did everything though Chat too. Glad I didn't have to call in. I'll report back when the new one arrives.

Found a pic of holder that the one metal post (center one) clicks into...

Being able to do the replacement in 15-20 mins through Chat is great support IMO. I am staying optimistic. My machine was built on a Friday if you know what I mean. LOL :)

If I take out my boot SSD (purchased elsewhere) from the M6600 i currently have and put it in the replacement M6600 that will have the exact same specs, it should work right?

Trying to figure out if I should install all my programs now or wait in case I have to re-install windows.
