i just noticed that there is battery #1 and battery #2. Does this means that my laptop can have two batteries?

Yes D series Latitudes can accept the D series modular battery bay, most are quite worn out these days and are $$$ for "new" ones on eBay.

I mean you can use new thermal paste where the CPU meets the heatsink, but you shouldn't be putting it on surfaces that already contact a thermal pad.

I have been using X9000 and nvidia gpu for 3 years. Only problem is the heat. D630 fan is too small for both of them. Never think of overclocking even it can be done.

I have the X9000 CPU and Nvidia 135M video chipset in my D630.
*The X9000 is noticeably “snappier” than the T9300 I had previously.

I performed pre(T9300)/post(X9000) tests, for Wattage usage and heat of CPU/GPU, due to many posters concerns that the X9000 is rated at 7-9watts more, and that heat would be an issue:
    - Heat: No difference noted using CPUID HardWare Monitor for CPU or GPU
    - Wattage usage: At Idle – no difference noted. Under CPU/GPU loads - Maybe 2-5watts more than the T9300

    Conclusion of T9300 vs X9000:
    - The X9000 is definitely an improvement over the T9300
    - Temp/Wattage Monitoring reveals little to no difference
    - Cost: Currently, the X9000 can be had for around $95 on eBay if you catch a good listing, but this is still approximately $55-60 more than the T9300
    - Bottom line: These are older technology laptops with their own dated limitations, but If upgraded to a 9300/T9500/X9000 CPU, SSD, 4/8GB ram, and Win7, they are still a great laptop for everything but gaming.
*IMO the X9000 upgrade is worth it if you want to max-out the abilities of your D630’s

Thank you for the fantastic reply. I going to upgrade my D630 CPU as well in the following days. I currently have the T9500 with 8 gigs of ram and I have been eyeballing the T9900 on eBay which runs at 3.06. It has the same architecture as the T9500 and runs at the same Wattage as the T9500 which means that there won't be an issue with the heat as mentioned by others. The only difference is that the T9900 has an FBS of 1066 as opposed to 800. I was wondering if you think it will work on the D630 or not?

Sorry, but the X9000 CPU is the best/fastest CPU that can be dropped into the D630.
Others have tried the T9900 in their D630, but their D630’s wouldn’t boot due to the T9900 is a 1066mhz FSB CPU, and the D630 only supports 800mhz FSB CPU's
