    Hi,
I have question since I have plan to change second disk to SSD, and wanna ask what gpu is the best to change. Before I have not knowledge that it could be upgraded to better Quadro than what Dell offered. Have A18 BIOS, and Dell not allowed better GPU's to handle, and there is no way to flash custom bios?
    Thanks to advice.

Newer Quadro cards do not work. I have read mixed results with Kepler series cards (Quadro K5000M/etc) with most users stating that they do not work either. Your best bet is to check out newer AMD cards. Any AMD card that supports LVDS should work. The fan does not kick in automatically with some newer AMD GPUs, you might need to use "Dell fan utility" or "DellFanCmd" to kick off manual/custom fan control.

Thanks for answer, but I have no knowledge in AMD carts could you advice me which AMD card, that will be most powerfull but without fan problem. I mostly use it to edit photos, videos and my Q 4000m is not good enough.

    Huge Thanks :)

Hey I have probably problem today my dell acts strange, due to rendering short clip screen is blinking (the backlight) also when i tested it via furmark stress test it blinks after few moments of test. Is it possible that nvidia is dying? I found few offers with k5000m so... tell me is this nvidia dying? And what are your experience with k5000m what was the maing problem with it?

Blinking starts with 62% gpu load around 90 degree C

It seems that most users report that the Quadro K series cards don't work in the M6600. One user got it working with Windows XP but it wouldn't work with later versions of Windows.
I'm afraid I can't answer questions about AMD cards or compatibility. Other than knowing that more recent AMD cards work in this system, I don't pay attention to the specific models or heatsink issues, I generally only deal with NVIDIA stuff.

Can't really help with that either, I've never seen something like that happen.

I've seen posts saying that K3000M, K4000M & K5000M should work on M6600 machines given that the cards have been pulled from newer Dell laptops.

I've also read a post on this forum from a guy who was successful with AMD 8970M (aka R9 M290X) pulled from a Dell Alienware machine.
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/m6600-owners-thread.580712/page-721

AMD 8970M have also been reported to work out of the box.
