Curious as to how many owners of the M6600 are actually upgrading to the M6700?

Some of the specs mentioned in the two M6700 threads are pretty impressive, but I am not sure it is worth the upgrade.

Also, do you think Dell gives you as M6600 owners sufficient incentive to trade in your (still great) M6600 to get the M6700? I realise that will differ from country and region etc. but what are your thoughts.

I think I am likely to stick with my M6600 and won't upgrade until the M6800 or even M6900 depending on the specs.

Ermm.. Nice tought here.. perhaps not yet for me since not even 1 year using M6600.. and if DELL do offer for incentive  in trade-in I might think several time ... Rather stick to current configuration which are enough for me now :D Maybe I'll follow you for the M6900 ;)

I just got my M6600 so no, I wont be upgrading. One thing I like about the M6700 is it is able to use the slice battery and the e-modular battery. For some reason Dell decided to only make the M6600 and M4600 use the standard batteries. Thats one thing I would like.

The M6700 is definitely a step up, using faster mem, smaller core cpu, better video cards, and overall tweeking the housing in a lot of areas for ease of use and quality.

I will be waiting for the M6800 or whatever they call the next in the series.

In terms of hardware, i didn't really see a reason to upgrade over my G73JH when Sandy Bridge came out, skipping one hardware generation is pretty common unless your work depends on how fast you can crunch numbers, render objects, etc.

It depends on "how much", there will always be performance gain and cost involved. For free? sure....

Heh, I'm still on my M6400, and just can't bring myself to move to that inane 16:9 aspect ratio. I suspect that as long as that M6400 is going strong, I will stick with it. I have no illusions of 16:10 ever coming back, so I'll have to bite the bullet one day. Hopefully, when that day comes, Windows 7 will still be supported, or Microsoft will offer an acceptable GUI on their new OS (Windows 9, perhaps).

I will keep my M6600 I think until 2 more generations (M6900 if they keep up the current naming). Only thing that could tempt me is a ips quality screen with internal mobile net modem (currently not avaiable for any ips, must be interference).

Just to correct 1 thing, the M4700 & the M6700 do NOT support the e-modular battery. They only support the slice battery.

By the way, the battery slice will work with the M4600 & M6600, it just will not show up in the system tray properly. And you might have to charge it separately. It is not officially supported but I'm just saying....
