i noticed the benchmark programs on my M4600 also reported the fan was at 30%, however under load i could hear the fan getting louder and also physically feel the exhaust airflow become stronger, so i dont know if its just a problem with the software reading the fan

Is your BIOS at A.01? That might be the problem. Most are shipping out with A.03. That might have a difference in fan profile configurations I think.

Bios at A.03 and drivers up to date also here. Unless there is a special driver for the GPU Fan....
@wired360 : did you see the fan goes further than 30% when overcloking?
@ Mido_ban : keep us informed when your support technician will answer you.
    Thx

I think this may be a software issue. I say this because I remember there were two other fans on hwinfo and the numbers were respective of what I could hear and feel. I believe the gpu fan is referring to an actual fan on the gpu as in a desktop setup and we are looking at a mobile setup with a total of two fans. This however is my interpretation on the readings and setup, it would also mean that the gpu does not directly control it's fan on the system but the system reads temps and adjusts fan speeds accordingly.

If you are using software to overclock your card remember that that software might have fan control built in.

Can you let us know what the RPM of the fan is? Also make sure you have the most up to date version of HWinfo.

For anyone that's been curious. I've been rock stable after turning off Optimus in the bios. I'll try enabling it again once there are new drivers available.

No freezes/resets, no problems with my OCZ Vertex 3 (firmware 2.09).

No problems with the overclocked GPU. I reinstalled Witcher 2 and w/o Optimus, new SSD, 16GB of RAM it's running great at 1920x1200 and med-high settings, Portal 2 runs perfect on Ultra High; installed WoW to test out an MMO, runs everything on high/ultra, DX11 no problems. I haven't even really noticed an increase in temps.
