Mine gets warm to the touch also during heavy processing - right side primary boot bay. That seems ok as it is consistent.
    When I'm outside on a 100 Deg. F. day I can't tell the difference. :) :p

Thanks for the update! You've encouraged me to do mine when it requires more than just air and cotton swabs - probably sooner the better.

I want to mount two SSD-512GB in RAID 0. I want to install win7 and Centos 6. It will be working? Raid 0 in such configuration will be working correctly and with full speed for Windows and Linux? What is your opinion?

if you put an SSD in RAID you might not get TRIM support. I know that Intel was supposed to be making drivers for Windows to get this included. No idea what the status is on Linux.

Otherwise, it shouldn't be any different than doing a multi-boot install on any regular drive.

By the looks of it OCing an XM cpu in the m6600 is not possible or has someone managed to somehow unlock the bios?

I started using the Intel XTU this week and noticed all was grayed (locked), which is fine for me since I don't need to OC. But in the help it said we could contact the Mfg. Maybe Dell can provide a code or key for you to unlock? Or maybe only after warranty is over?

I have periodically been searching for the settings in Windows 7 Backup, specifically what are the parameters. Couple weeks ago I found them in the middle of a thread over at technet for another problem that backup was having pre-SP1.

These settings don't seem to exist in the registry by default but probably can be created manually if desired.

At the very least we know what the triggers are now.

The thread: Windows7 Backup not doing incremental

Here's the snip of the post since I can't seem to permalink:

We have introduced automatic full backup feature in Windows7 to help customers who run into a situation where they never create full backups. When their backup target eventually gets filled, they are left with only one backup set to delete. They need to delete the entire backup set to resume backups and so end up in a situation where they do not have any backup.

The rules that determine when to take automatic full backup are:

    1. If previous full backup was taken 1 year back

    2. Ratio of size of deleted files + older versions of files in current backup set is 50% or more of the size of the current backup if it were full.

We deliberately did not allow forcibly starting new backup set or configuring these rules through our UI because we did not want to confuse users about full backups, incremental backups, automatic full backups.

If you find that these settings do not match your requirements, we allow the defaults to be tweaked using registry keys.

Registry key to control enable/disable automatic switching to full backup:
    Path: SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsBackup\AutomaticFullBackup
    Name: Enabled
    Type: DWORD
Value: 0 indicates automatic full backup is disabled, non-zero indicates it is enabled
    Default if not specified: 1

Registry key to control the time period when backup should automatically switch to full:
    Path: SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsBackup\AutomaticFullBackup
    Name: TimePeriodInDays
    Type: DWORD
    Value: Count of days
    Default if not specified: 365

Registry key to control the % of deleted/missing + older versions of files that determines whether to switch to full backup:
    Path: SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsBackup\AutomaticFullBackup
    Name: OlderFilesSizePercentage
    Type: DWORD
Value: Percentage value from 0 to 100
    Default if not specified: 50

    Hope that helps.

    Thanks,
    Sriram [MSFT]

Call 'em toll free. Or use that chat thingy. I'm sure they'll quickly let you know. I'm sure others are curious to know too.

There's been discussion of this earlier in the thread. There is no way to unlock the overclocking capability on the XM CPUs in the M6600 (or M4600, M6700, M4700) using a stock Dell BIOS, and there has been no mention made here of an available unlocked BIOS.

Oh that I have done already, called the help line, and their answer was that if I have a problem with the motherboard that needs a bios flash other than what's available on their website, they can send me a new replacement mobo with the latest bios flashed :))
