I have no experience dealing in the outlet, that said no parts is no parts for that config. They may be unwilling to upgrade you to something better and is kind of understandable.
Now is the time within your 21 days to put on the hard negotiating cap and find a equally equipped 6700 and see where they'll come down to help with the misery.

Can't blame you about being spoiled by RGB display.

They don't want you to return it for a refund, there's your conflict.

True, I know they don't want me to return it. If I don't get anywhere by the 25th, then its going back for a refund.

I believe you're required to ship back the first one upon receipt of the exchange replacement. You'll have 21 days on the replacement ship date to love it or hate it. RGB panels are I think highly sought after outlet items.
They're a big company with more energy than anyone alone and still they strive to help their little customers - give or take some attitude here or there. They do big business, not just us here on NBR, so some RMA they expect, especially with their aggressive marketing. Whatever gets deemed defective will be stripped for its refurbishable parts.

Just think of it as a cog with some occasional burr's. Disappointing that you got snagged by one.

I believe so as well, and like I told them over and over again - I really appreciate their help in resolving this matter. Whatever happens though - I get another m6600, a m6700 (wishful thinking), or even a refund I will still go with Dell in the future. Every company has issues, but for some reason, I just like Dell...

Thank you for the help rcb.to.ca :)

    Hi all....

This morning powering up the M6600, I got this message:

"Alert! The AC power adapter wattage and type and cannot be determined. The battery may not charge. The system will adjust to the performance to match the power available.

Strike the F3 key (before the F1 or F2) if you do not want to see power warning message again.
    To continue press F1 key
To change setup option press F2 key
To run onboard diagnostics press F5 key"

Wondering if I should ignore this or get a new power adapter?

You will probably notice poor performance if the machine cannot identify your power adapter. It will run like it would if you had a low-powered adapter plugged in.

I've had this happen a few times on various Dell notebooks and it's usually resolved by just unplugging the adapter and plugging it back in. If it happens consistently and you notice the performance issue, you'll need to have the adapter replaced.

Thanks that info...I unplugged it and plugged it back in and the message disappeared.

Add the fact that the M6600s are "Made in China", my guess is that production costs are so low that they are still making a bundle for each sale.

A long long time ago I remember Steve Jobs saying that building a MacIntosh only required $5.00 worth of parts. I am not sure how accurate that statement was, but it might be somewhat of an indicator of just how inexpensive these computers are to produce in China.

The return time for an outlet product is limited to 15 days. I purchased an XPS 17 from outlet and had to return it due to severe screen flicker.

I had a tech person tell me that a purchase from the outlet is "hit or miss". Not sure I would do that again.
