Hi I have been having an issue with installing my drivers for my dell m6600. I bought a 750 gb drive and just installed it into my computer today. It is my primary drive and I installed windows on to it. I didn't get the disk for the drivers, so I had to go to dells website and download them. I have them all downloaded on to my external drive and I am ready to install them. The problem I am having is figuring out what order to install the drives in. Dell has a packet that explains it, but it is very badly written and explained. It does not include all of the drives that I downloaded and because this is my work computer, I need to have everything working well. Thanks :)

What's up w/ the IPS screen, the configurator shows a conflict with the webcam? How do you resolve that?

Just for change - something different than IPS panel and new CPU :) :

Docking station PR03x. Recently I notcied someone selling them pretty cheap on eBay. Docks were w/out the power supply and in the desription it didn't say anything about USB 3.0 ports in it. My questions:
    1. will I be able to connect laptop's 240W power supply to the "dock" or maybe it requires more power than that?
    2. Thought PR03X goes with USB 3.0 ports - is it possible there was seller's mistake in the description and all of them have new USB ports.

Appears to be an issue with the configuration settings on the page. People are saying that you can call and ask for the config.

I am hoping to eventually swap out the panel on the M6600 that I use for an IPS panel, but it may not be as simple as I was hoping.

Hopefully people will start sharing their impressions with the IPS panel here on the forums when they start receiving them. I know that one person claimed to have one already, but that was never verified.

Assuming the 17.3" version is 10bit color and Optimus only supports 8bit color due to the limitations of the Intel integrated GPU, I would say no. Then again, I am assuming.

Its a conflict with the config page. If you call Dell the sales reps have access to a different version of the webcam/mic or just mic for the IPS. Its been almost a week and they still haven't fixed the webpage. The only way to order the IPS for the M6600 is over the phone until they fix the webpage.

On another note my Dell rep said that you cant configure the IPS with the M8900 (its not a webpage error like the webcam). He said they may have an ATI card with the IPS in the future. Personally I am not going to order until they do. I've waited this long already... If they don't come out with it soon, I'm going to wait until Ivy Bridge and 28nm gpus are availible in March.

No, it is not. (10-bit color issue like Bokeh mentioned.)

I have a dock station and it works with the same power adapter that comes with the workstation.

About the usb3.0, no luck; If I remember, someone posted that there are no new docks from dell, and when they made the ones that are still selling, the USB 3.0 was not an option.
