You can get the Timbuk2 XL Computer Messenger Bags. Extremely durable and they look nice!

Have it exactly the same way - same values. Little bit concerned about it as it differs from first posts in the thread author published.
EDIT cause I missed the quote somehow: It was about temps going from 55-65'C in idle.

    Definitely not fans or HDs.

I recall my first M6400 had this noise but not as bad, and the 2nd M6400 was very clean all round including noise.

Current M6600 has substantial white/static noise. Have to leave the room after an hour or play music. Very tiring.

Capacitor whine sounds right. Does it decrease with time?

    Appreciated.

When docked to E/Port Plus M6600 does not recognize external eSata RAID 5 box (LaCie 4big Quadra). Device manager does not show errors. Everything looks clean.

    Anyone have eSata problems?

    M6600 configured as 1TB RAID 0 (2 x 500 GB, nothing else) with Win 7 64-bit.

    Thanks.

Agreed. Very well made, good protection, but need to check weight if that is a concern.

Yep - I also have SATA Operation set to RAID, and my eSATA port doesn't work with any non-Dell hardware I have (it does recognize Dell's own DVD enclosure, though).

I'm waiting on this Briefcase/Computer Bags - Executive Brief X-Wide - Leather Handbags, Pullmans, and Luggage. It was 319 dollars, so that is quite a lot, but I did not wanted a backpack. And I like bags nearly as much as notebooks :) Not rational.

I asked about it here before, but nobody has one who reads this forum I think. Hopefully it arrives before my M6600. If anyone is intrested I will tell about this bag.

All my prior notebooks I bought in a shop, this is the first one I ordered. This waiting game is a torture.

If that's the issue, it should not decrease meaningfully, no. It's caused by the power circuitry hitting the resonant frequency of a component(s) such as a cap or a choke, causing it to physically vibrate-like a tuning fork, basically. Different levels of load on the power circuitry can eliminate or change the frequency and volume of the sound.

An otherwise identical machine may not have the issue simply due to manufacturing tolerances; not all CPUs or GPUs or whatever of identical make and model use the same amount of power, not all capacitors or chokes are constructed exactly identically so one may resonate at a different frequency than another, etc.

I can't seem to get duel external monitors to work at same time as the integrated display. It only lets me do two total (integrated display + external or 2 externals)

    - FirePro Graphics Card
    - DVI Monitors
    - E-Port Plus Docking station

I just upgraded the AMD driver from the Dell site. That also gave me the Catalyst Pro Control Center. Still no luck.

I have tried hooking up the external monitors using both DVI and Display Port to DVI adapters.

    I saw this post: http://forum.notebookreview.com/att...-owners-lounge-m4600m6600-multimonitor-3-.jpg

It tried watching this video:‪Dell Precision M6500 Mobile Workstation Powers Three Monitors‬‏ - YouTube (I now it is the M6500 vs M6600)

The only thing I haven't tried is an active DisplayPort adapter. Can anyone confirm if that is what is required or is there any other tricks?

    Thanks,
