They actually make the standard LED in 900p and 1080p, I believe. The 900p is available in the base configuration but the 1080p is a pretty cheap upgrade ($85?).

Also, there's a few different panels floating around for the standard LED (made by CMO, LG, and AUO). People generally seem to like the AUO the best — the LG tends to flicker at low brightness levels, and the CMO looks downright terrible. The CMO has been pulled from production so you won't get it unless you buy the machine used/refurbished, but, there's no way to know whether you'll get an LG or AUO.

The touchscreen is reflective (glossy) but none of the other screens available are.

    Where are the pictures?^^

    B2T:

How long should the battery life be with the IPS Screen? Will it make noise with it?

Trying to get the pics restored. Hosting glitch.

IPS battery life is around 3 hours under normal use with 2920XM and Quadro 5010M.

LG made the panels in both of the M6600s that I have seen.

The RGBLED backlighting does NOT have the flickering issue that was seen on some of the early LG WLED panels.

I use a piece of solid walnut that is a little less than a 1/4 inch thick with rounded edges. In my opinion, the M6600 does not need an active cooling pad. You just need a flat surface that will not flex. The cooling is the M6600 is really overbuilt.
