The refurb is material that has already served in the exhibition, or for demos I think.
But the computer must be in a bad state right?

HP chooses to charge a higher price. The are NOT a better built machine. Have read some concerning things about the HP's running hot.

A refurb could get to the outlet a few ways. Machines returned, demos, cancelled orders. Not all of them will have cosmetic damage.

In the outlet, they have 3 categories:
    1 new
    2. refurbished.
    3. scratch and dent.

New are the best ones, The business refurbs I have seen from Dell all looked new. The "scratch and dent", may have physical marks, but also carry the three year warranty.

If you look on Ebay, there are plenty of sellers who sell the refurbed Dell M6600 that they got from Dell just to sell on Ebay. By looking at the feedback, most are very happy buyers.

Ok, so HP does not have a better construction than dell. So much the better.

For the purchase of a computer I prefer to buy fresh site.
In France I have the opportunity to enjoy offers students, which gives me good discounts.

Hi everyone, what you would advise SSD for the Dell M6600?
It would be to install the operating system + software and plugins protools.

    Thanks.

Personally I would recommend a SSD with 120 GB or more.
I would not take one with less capacity.
The Dell Precision M6600 supports 2 regular 2,5" SATA III drives so you can use a 2,5" SSD with SATA III.
My favorites are: Crucial M4, Intel SSD 510 Series (320 Series), Samsung SSD 830 Series in alphabetical order.

The Samsung 830 is brandnew on market und should be as reliable as the previous model 470. I think I would try the Samsung P830. I would never ever take a SSD with Sandforce controller and I would never ever take a SSD from OCZ!

Or you could make use of the mSATA PCIe Mini slot, which is SATA II.
Take a look at: MyDigitalSSD 128GB 50mm Bulletproof mSATA SSD | My Digital Discount
I bought the same and can use both 2,5" slots too.
You have many options so far.

When you talk about slots, it is express card?
If so, I prefer to keep them in case I need to buy a firewire express card for my sound card.

I have no idea which option I choose to install my disks, I would say the most powerful ...

I saw that the key M4 and Samsung were the cheapest, how long life can be expected from an average ssd?
There's one there that you recommend over another between the central and samsung?

To complete my setup, I wanted to take a second drive but a HDD. 750 GB (500 GB minimum, this will depend on the price), I thought of Western Digital, Seagate and Samsung, with 7200 rpm, and a good cache.
Could you suggest me a model?

Upon receipt of my computer, I could install directly my ssd and my hdd? Is there a specific location for each, as a place reserved for the system disk for example.
After, must format the drives? Does it need to configure something in the bios?
