Hello. I hope someone can answer my question regarding the multi touch screen in the M6600. Is there any difference in viewing quality between the multi touch and the regular 1080 screen? Like if the laptop is being used to watch a video or movie, is the quality the same?
    Thanks

Yeah, me too. A Dell rep is holding a outlet M6600 while they research a lost credit of mine. I don't need some of what it has: 16Gb ram, i7-9720, 1080 touch screen, blu ray , 750GB drive, M8900 video, for 1455.00 plus tax. Way more than I planned on spending, but this is one of their NEW outlet laptops, and not a refurb.

I'm not sure if the bluray is a writable version, looks like it may be: "V6TMW Module,Blu-Ray Rewritable,Double Speed,Panasonic,BARE,MP"

I don't like how Dell has part numbers, product ids, sku numbers for the same thing. It's confusing.

They measure almost exactly the same. Touchscreen has more glare. It is a very good touchscreen as far as the digitizer goes.

I was just curious if the clarity was the same. Do they put some conductive layer on top of the LCD sandwhich to enable the touch?

I like the idea of a touch screen, though I have no work related need for it at all. I thought with touch screens being used more and more, it might be nice to have, like for Windows 8

The touchscreen is slightly thicker and has less anti glare coating. I use the touchscreen panel every day and can't tell that a digitizer pad is in front of the screen. It is like any smartphone or tablet - you have the touchscreen and no downside as far as the screen goes.

Go find an Apple Mac Book with the glossy panel or Sony display with a glass cover. Then take away maybe 20% of the glare from the screen and you have the M6600 touchscreen. The glare is muted, but not as much as the full anti glare panel.

I chose the touch screen over the normal fhd anti glare screen. The extra functionality was worth it to me.

Thanks very much for your knowledge. I can tell you know more than 99% of the "sales professionals" at Dell. Is the digitizer pad removable? Like could you move it to another LCD screen?

    Hi Bokeh,

After reading the review, I bought a MZMPA128HMFU New drive for $239 off ebay.

I'm thinking of just using the MZMPA128HMFU drive to reduce some weight by removing all the HDDs as well as the CD drive...

May I ask how you remove the cover in the beginning? I read that I have to do it carefully.. but I'm not sure as to how to do it.. Am I supposed to use a flat head screwdriver to wedge it out?..

    Thanks..

Edit : And also, is the Optical Drive 12.7mm in height or the 9.5mm?...
