I'm starting a new thread to see if there's been any changes since the last thread....

Mainly I want to find out if there are any M6600 screens out there that don't have the corner tints. Mine has them really bad. Dell have given me 2 new screens both with the same issue. That was a few months ago - maybe it was a bad batch?

Should I try to get another replacement screen now to see if it's any better??

    Thanks

What screen model did you get? I had the LG with no issue.

I had three M6600 1080p. No issue with them.

Hmmm.... does it change with brightness?

corner tint was said to be IPS exclusive, so you have to have the IPS model to get that ~~

Yes sorry I meant to say - I've got the IPS screen. Do either of you that have replied have the IPS screen?

No it doesn't change with brightness - it's constant.... Obviously more noticeable with a white background, but you can see it on any uniform colour.....

    Thanks for the replies

I bought mine in June with the IPS screen and AMD FirePro card (a rare combo from what I am told). I had new two replacement laptops sent out for build quality issues (loose screen bezels), So I've seen 3 M6600 laptops with the IPS screen and none of them had corner tint issue.

Thanks, that's very interesting. I've also got the IPS screen with the FirePro 8900 card.

That gives me hope - all 3 panels I had were within 2 weeks, so possibly it was a bad batch. I'll get Dell to swap my screen again and see if I get lucky this time.

    Thanks

When did you originally buy your M6600? I would ask for a whole new machine. When you paid $400+ for the IPS screen upgrade, it should be flawless. It's by far the best screen I have ever had on a laptop.

Got it Apr/May this year. Yeah, exactly, the whole screen should be amazing, not just 90% of it!

I'd rather have just a new screen than a new computer, would take me ages to reinstall all my stuff on it....

I see. When I got my first M6600, I took out the factory HDD and put my own SSD in it. So all I had to do it swap drives when the replacement laptops came. If you are using the factory drive, then yeah that could be a pain.
