    Yup - in the UK.
Tbh, I'm pretty narked about the whole thing. We have been using Dell stuff for years at my company - and have the D series docking stations etc. So I was ticked off when we would have to ditch all of those and get the new E series ones. Still, I figured I would try 1x M6400 before buying them for the rest of the development team. After all of this hassle though - it isn't worth the agro - Dell have lost sales on another 8x M6400s. I'll keep this one for my own personal use, and source another series of 17" quad core lappies with docking stations in the new year for the rest of the company.

Fair enough. I may have to cancel mine. Did you get any kind of reasoning from the Rep about the delay?

I've given up speaking to the sales rep. Another one of the reasons why Dell are not getting the rest of the order - if he'd said "Look, it is going to be January before you get it" - I'd have understood - or even if he'd said "I have no idea when it is going to arrive - it is in the hands of our building department now" - that would have been ok too - but I kept getting told "your order is very important we will prioritise it above everything else" etc - and then to be told 12hrs before delivery that it is going to be another week (3 times!) is a bit off.

haha yep. prioritise it indeed. Even though the rep has no idea whatsoever about the production of your laptop 3500 miles away.

Actually checking my statement it seems that dell havent even charged my card yet. Is that normal, have they charged yours manic? if you paid via that method anyway. Makes me think someone knows its not going to arrive for a long time.

They don't charge the card until the laptop is shipping.

    +1

I've bought heaps of stuff off of Dell in the past - and they always do a check initially on order (to see if your credit card will cope with it) but then only charge on dispatch.

Mine moved to "shipping" this morning - so it should be here on Tuesday - if it goes according to previous schedules.
