At the moment I've been trying to find a 2.5in 2TB CMR drive for my M4800. Turned out that I wasn't restricted to 7mm but 9.5mm with the ODD caddy I have, meaning I can use 9.5mm drives in it. Problem is, finding CMR drives are really difficult because almost every drive that are 7mm are SMR. I could get a 2TB SSD but, eh... not sure about the 2TB BX500 since my budget is limited.

Take a look at Samsung M9T. It is with CMR and 2TB capacity.

Thanks for the feedback friend. So, the problem was M4800's motherboard and you successfully managed to run fingerprint sensor device on 7510 model using the same OS image (OS image of M4800) ?

    Did I understand right?

I don't remember at this point if we used the same image or set up a brand new one for the 7510. The problem was not the motherboard; we had that swapped out and the fingerprint reader would still not work. The problem was definitely hardware in the specific M4800 though because moving the drive to a different M4800 immediately fixed the problem.

I'm looking to make the M4800 my daily driver; any recommendations on what CPU+GPU combo to make for reasonable temps/noise/battery? I see a lot of people have things like i7-4810 or even the 4900s, as well as the high end Nvidia GPUs, but I was thinking that the i7-4702QM (37W) and WX 4150 (50W) would be the best combo

Also, I would like hear how people managed 75TDP or even 100TDP GPUs; what are the temperature/noise/battery life like? Is going down to 50 too much a drop for not enough gain?

I upgraded the GPU to M2200, which is in GM206 chip. The performance is like GT965m.
And I just bought a T1000 MXM card. I will try if it works on M4800.
