Bottom corner JXDP1, intel jtag for testing in factory. Make sense because its near the cpu.

    Left JXDP2
I would assume its intel jtag for testing chipset as it is located just above the chipset

My motherboard is also completely new, and it was delivered with Service mode enabled for me to write my service tag before exiting the mode.
I did not dig deeper to see what you could do but there as a bunch of diagnostics all over the screen when booting up.

I have brilliant news. The cable I ordered from eBay arrived, and a day later I installed the new one and the panel finally lit up as it should be. It was the old cable after all, which looks really... badly handled whoever pulled the lid. The lid was really a pull from a possible faulty machine, not direct from Dell. Now I'm going to focus on getting a new bezel, and a new LCD.

The bezel's here and in but the little thing for the magnet is busted. That can be fixed with something similar to Sugru or a bit of adhesive and black tape to mount it in. Next stage now is finding a panel that's beyond 6-bit 262k. I need one that has 16.7million that fits though. I don't know if anyone else has put in an 8-bit panel with good colour coverage?

I'll probably do that. Know of any good accurate 1080p panel models I can put in? My ZBook uses a NV156FHM-N43 but it's not an 8bit panel, just 6-bit.

My now eDP compliant M4800 is alive and kicking now though. Very quiet as well!

Panel arrived today and it's actually as advertised. The panel looks brilliant for a TN, except the angles are lower from top and bottom angles, but higher than the one I put in initially. Brightness works, picking up as 8bit and 120hz on the Intel 4600 graphics.

The issue when I installed it first time, I forgot to unplug the CMOS because it freaks out when a different panel is in. Not even changing back to the old one resolves it but removing the CMOS will clear it and not freak out again. That was a little scary because I thought I busted either the new LCD, cable, or the motherboard.

https://www.panelook.com/N156HHE-GA1_Innolux_15.6_LCM_overview_33306.html This is what I installed. I always look for at least 300 nits rated brightness when I look for a new LCD and maybe for the benefit of having good colour accuracy.

The final things that should be done at some point now are the WX4150 and an i7 4810MQ and maybe another 16GB, and I should be done with this unit. The main battery isn't a huge concern and I know of Greencell doing replacement for these (there's one in my Zbook) so I don't have to worry for now.

Would I recommend this LCD? Perhaps, but I'll see after 6 months of use... It was one persevering adventure doing all this though. Shame I got the laptop first with the LVDS board not eDP otherwise it would've been smoother getting a new LCD in. It turned into one big learning curve getting inside it to replace parts and praying each time.

So, a 120hz panel does indeed work in the M4800 eDP version, 8-bit colour too. And Intel and AMD don't seem to complain. It's also pretty stable, there's no artifacting or anything abnormal for now.

EDIT: Alright so it's 90% OK, the 10% is that, unless I remove the CMOS to reset, it doesn't use the internal when I boot it. Anyone know why? The screen powers up after Windows is booted.

Just welcoming myself to the club. After some recommendations in this thread, I was finally able to get myself an M4800 as well. It's really quite a beautiful brick - haven't been so happy ever since I got a waffle iron from the 60s several weeks ago. :)

So far, there's really just one thing I haven't been able to figure out: When in the docking station, there seems to be no outgoing signal to the external monitor until Windows boots. Problem is the same with the PR02x and PR03x docking stations, both with DVI and VGA cables. Additional oddity: When I leave the M4800's lid closed and power it on via the button on the docking station, the M4800 seems to crash, i.e. when I open the lid, I just get a black screen, no HD activity, fan may be on but ultimately I need to restart.

All of this used to work fine with the M4500 I used to have. Google wasn't of much help, unfortunately, I tried to fiddle with all BIOS settings that seemed remotely relevant, but it didn't make a difference.

    Remaining options:
    - BIOS is set to UEFI, maybe that's the reason?
    - Possibly reverting to an earlier BIOS version might help, but before second guessing, I should at least have a faint clue of what I'm doing. :)

Any input would be greatly appreciated!
