It looks like the A146J2 is for the UHD screen https://www.parts-people.com/index.php?action=item&id=19409
It seems to be hard to find this part brand new, aliexpress only have the A146J1

If there is any difference, I don't know

Parts-people are the best to deal with but also the most difficult to buy from because their inventory is rarely filled and when they update the stock with one or two parts they get sold out in less than an hour or if you're lucky in a few hours

    Hey all,

Sorry, I know this has been chased up before but I'm mighty confused here.

I'm looking to upgrade a 768p/1080p panel on a M4800 (can't be confirmed just yet as it's not currently in my possession) to the 100% srgb IGZO display.

    Is it possible?

I've read that it may require a different motherboard/ribbon cables/screen shroud for mounting as the holes are different.

Can someone please tell me if/how this is possible and what I may need?

    Thanks!

    Hello guys,

I purchased another M4800... this one's made in 2016 and it's actually never used.
However, it came with 1366 HD display. I'm trying to upgrade this to FHD or UHD.

Its motherboard model is 0V5GVY. It has Firepro M5100.

Can I upgrade to FHD or UHD? if so, which panel should I purchase? I would love to get QHD too. However, I'm not interested in replacing its motherboard.. that's going to be too much disassembly work for me.

    Thanks in advance

I found a used 0V5GVY M4800 laptop with FHD on this link... I don't know what language it's written in but I think it gives me a little clue:
    https://www.njuskalo.hr/dell-prijen...ca-i7-4th-gen-240ssd-8gb-dvije-oglas-26826586

and another clue that shows 0V5GVY M4800 with FHD:

    "System: Host: HAL-142 Kernel: 3.16.0-38-generic x86_64 (64 bit, gcc: 4.8.2)

So I can imagine I can upgrade 0V5GVY M4800 to FHD easily.
    https://www.ebay.it/itm/Dell-Precis...584308?hash=item41e702a474:g:ZKAAAOSwgGtbJtZb

Please let me know if I can upgrade to UHD or QHD on this motherboard. Thanks!

Thanks... I already have an M4800 FHD panel. So I guess I can implement this directly to my 1366 HD M4800.
I'll try this later this weekend.

My goal is building an M4800 with 4940mx CPU, Quadro M2200M GPU, 32GB RAM and QHD display. This spec will rival any modern laptop out there today.

For now, I'm sticking with FHD.

M4600 was never offered with anything beyond FHD. There are, however, both LVDS and eDP versions of the motherboard. If your system had a 1366 display then it has an LVDS motherboard.

They offered two 1080p panels in this system. WLED 1080p which is a TN panel and LVDS, and RGBLED 1080p which is an IPS panel and eDP. You should be able to get a LVDS 1080p panel and drop it in without trouble. You might need a new display cable as well.

My 1080p panel is from M4800 laptop that uses 0T3YTY motherboard.
Do you know if this motherboard is LVDS or eDP?
If this 0T3YTY motherboard is LVDS, then its 1080p panel will fit my 0V5GVY M4800 laptop (LVDS).

So I have two M4800 laptops: one with 0T3YTY motherboard and 1080p FHD panel, the other with 0V5GVY motherboard and 1366 HD panel. However 0T3YTY motherboard m4800 is defective... I want to take out its panel and transplant it to a 0V5GVY m4800. I guess I already have the cable and panel from 0T3YTY m4800.

Can anyone confirm 0T3YTY M4800 motherboard is LVDS?

    I found another clue here:
    https://github.com/linuxhw/HWInfo/blob/master/Notebook/Dell/Precision/Precision M4800/8CE4042FF51D/ROSA-2014.1/4.4.16-NRJ-DESKTOP-1ROSA-X86_64/X86_64/45A3CCB5DD

It shows specs of 0T3YTY M4800... and I could find a section that says:

    "
    Manufacturer: "Dell Inc."
    Product: "0T3YTY"
    Version: "A00"
    Serial: --
    Type: 0x0a (Motherboard)
    Board Info: #2

    Type: 0xff (Other)

    Internal Designator: "J6F1 - LVDS"
    Internal Connector: 0xff (Other)
    Port Connector: #27
    "

I'm guessing 0T3YTY motherboard uses LVDS?

So, If I take out 0T3YTY m4800's 1080p panel and cable, and then transplant them to 0V5GVY m4800 (LVDS shipped with 1366 HD), it should be alright?

    https://www.linux-hardware.org/index.php?probe=d4a22ce641&log=hwinfo

another hardware analysis indicates LVDS on 0T3YTY mobo. ;)

"System Info: #1 Manufacturer: "Dell Inc." Product: "Precision M4800" Version: "01" Serial: -- UUID: -- Wake-up: 0x06 (Power Switch) Board Info: #2 Manufacturer: "Dell Inc." Product: "0T3YTY" Version: "A00" Serial: -- Type: 0x0a (Motherboard) Features: 0x09 Hosting Board Replaceable Chassis: #3

Port Connector: #27 Type: 0xff (Other) Internal Designator: "J6F1 - LVDS" Internal Connector: 0xff (Other)"

    I hope I can successfully transplant 0T3YTY m4800's 1080p panel and cable to 0V5GVY m4800 on Monday. I hope I won't ruin both m4800 laptops!! lol

Yes, I confirm 0T3YTY m4800 has LVDS connectors.
I found Hwinfo software (freeware) can check this easily.
