Early M4800's have LVDS and late M4800's have eDP. eDP models can be upgraded to 4K (possibly with a new display cable in addition to a new display panel). If you have an LVDS system then it cannot be upgraded to 4K without also obtaining an eDP motherboard.
[Edit] Didn't realize that there was another page with more posts. @zogthegreat already explained this.

    Hi everyone,

I have a dell M4800 with the following screen and cable
    LTN156AT32 (screen), VAQ10_LVDS_CABLE(HD-Wire) PN DC02001QJ00 Rev 2.0 (A00)

To upgrade to a FHD screen what part and cable do I need?

I’ve read most of the post about screen upgrade here and I think I need to get this combo:

    DC9YJ LP156WFC TL B1 (screen) and LVDS 6G4XC (cable)

Is that combo the correct parts for my upgrade?

    Thank you

    Hello,

I think you misread my post. My current screen is LTN156AT32.

I am asking if the correct screen for me to get is DC9YJ LP156WFC TL B1

    Thanks

(chuckle) Sorry! Yes, the LP156WFC TLB1 / Dell P/N: DC9YJ with the 6G4XC cable should work to give you FHD. Sorry for not reading your question properly!

Can anyone recommend a good source for a replacement display assembly? I have the 3200 x 1800 IGZO screen with the WiGig antenna, and it's slowly developing a dim area running from top to bottom about two thirds of the way from left to right, so I'd like to have a replacement handy for when it dies.

OUCH! That panel is a bit pricey!

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/15-6-Sharp...717036?hash=item1a56a3ad6c:g:wGQAAOSwE9RbM0kp

OK, I'm a cheap bastich! $100 USD isn't that bad...

(EDIT) Wrong panel. It seems the panel that I linked is 3840×2160. Do you have the Dell part number or panel number?

    Hello,

It looks like my Dell M4800's lid sensor is malfunctioning. When I put my hands on palm rest, sometimes it triggers lid close. It puts my laptop into sleep mode.

Now I disabled sleep mode in my Windows 10 setting and bios. So M4800 can't get into sleep mode anymore but it'll blink instead. When lid sensor triggers lid close, it shows blank dark screen for 2 seconds and go back to normal screen. This happens quite often whenever I'm typing something on keyboard.

It looks like I'll have to disable M4800's lid sensor or completely remove it from motherboard..

    how can I do this?

My M4800 is a refurbished one so there's no warranty. I found a few other people who had similar issues with Dell laptops' palm rest lid sensor. One of them had to remove lid sensor from motherboard.

I'm not wearing any bracelet or magnetic watch. The problem is coming from lid sensor underneath M4800's palm rest.

    Thanks in advance!
