I believe this choice is possible when you install new board only.

it works fine I like the fact that when you place it on your laps it doesn't rise up and sits comfortably between the laps, typing under angle is fun. only downside is overall weight but its a mustang PC :) with QHD

No, vPro is enabled or not at initial config. Dell will even refuse to add it when a laptop is in for other changes or repairs, they insist it's at initial config or never.

which is what can be done via buying new board with 0 config (blank) meaning there would be a choice of 3 configs one of which is Vpro that can be set and done by advance enough user.

Dell will insist on original config ofcourse but its not obligatory. I took a snap of pre-config.

Isn't this a motherboard-specific config? How did you take a snapshot? I am a very technically advanced user, is there a guide I can follow to enable it?

I will attempt in finding the snpashot.

in short technician attempted to replace board on my laptop (unsuccessfully) and when he fired up new board there was a prompt to use one of 3 configs one of them being Vpro.

there was a warning though saying: once it will be set you may not go back on your choice! or on the choice of your [MB number]. so if dell sends you motherboard you may want to ask for technician to choose what you want (i suspect he will say its not possible as you are wigig for example so you stay wigig) but that is when you have a chance to make that choice. if i find the shot where you can clearly see choices available I will be sure to contribute.

ignore my earlier promise here it is.... waiting for kudos :)

I checked back a few pages, and I didn't seem to see it... but..

Anyone else notice that the M4800 is "no longer available" on Dell's USA website???

    Anyone know what's going on?

    I noticed the same thing.

I wonder if it has anything to do with he fact that Dell is charging almost double the US price in other regions.
