If your BIOS is set to RAID, but you have not created a RAID array, you default to the AHCI driver if I recall correctly so there should be no need to change anything. To bad Dell had problems with the 15" 10-bit IPS panel and stopped selling the M4700 with it.

tijo, thanks for the fast reply. You've contributed an awesome amount of knowledge to this thread and the M6700 thread.

New question. I plan to drive an HP ZR30w (2560 x 1600) and an HP 2740w (2560 x 1440) with the K2000M in the M4700 and using a new e-Port (the one with USB 3.0). Both panels are beautiful, 10 bit per subpixel, S-IPS panels. Will I only get 8 bit color out of the K2000M? Will the K2000M "flash to black" like GPUs that can't handle the pixel count in extended external displays?

    Hi,
    I got my m4700 yesterday, I'm a bit surprised of my 5,2 WEI score (due to processor), I was suspecting something more since I have the i7-3840QM CPU @ 2,80GHz. (5,2 / 7,2 / 6,8 / 6,8 / 7,4)

I have 16GB RAM, the Samsung 840pro SSD and pretty much high spec all over.

Do I need to run different drivers? Any particular one I should change?

PS. It is so much faster than my old m4500...

The K2000m can drive a 10-bit IPS display through display port, while I have no hands on experience with it, I know that much. I don't see why it couldn't handle both monitors either. I am not sure if you'll get the full 10-bit on DVI though, I'd look up the specs on nVidia's website for the K2000m. Someone else can probably fill in the gaps in my knowledge.

tijo, thanks... I use DP, so DVI is not an issue.

For comparison, I get WEI 6.7 on my M4700 with the same CPU and RAM as you have, and with the stock Liteon SSD. Both GPU scores are 6.7. The other scores are 7.8 or 7.9.

A single DVI port is limited to 8bits and 1920x1200.

Displayport will do color depth of 6, 8, 10, 12 and 16 bits per color component and much higher resolutions. I know it will do 4K (3840 × 2160) high def. Not sure of the absolute upper limit.

What power plan are you running on?
    I get the following:
    Processor (i7-3840QM) 7.7
    Memory (16GB) 7.7
    Graphics (K2000M) 7.0
    Gaming Graphics 7.0
    Primary Hard Disk 7.9

Hey, it's great that you got your google-fu in gear instead of letting people on NBR do all the work. ;)

Yeah, that 5.2 CPU score isn't normal. Here's what my M6700 gives:

I meant to post that this morning, but lots of stuff happened.
