I know right!?!?! I was all super excited...now im just sad and depressed...:( haha oh well. cant win 'em all!

I'm pretty sure the E6500 webcam will work with the m4400. They are essentially the same machine except the motherboard and lcd panel (as far as I know)

Backlit keyboard installed and working fine - what a "good" novelty though :)

Phoned dell about the fingerprint and webcam - they needed to go away and have a look
Called me back within 20mins to explain it couldnt be done as far as their rules were concerned so to speak.

BUT interestingly, my laptop is supposed to have a cam already!
Removed the bezel but no camera there(thinking the wrong bezel might be on it)

Having looked at the service manual, the connector for the fingerprint reader IS there on my laptop under the keyboard so it is possible

I'll def have a look into this though cam might be able to sort out via dell!

Where did you buy ur laptop from? It's possible that someone just repaired a damaged unit and sold it back out. I used to buy up broken laptops and psps, repaired them by canabalizing the badly damaged ones, and sold them back out for a nice little profit. Stopped recently because I dont have time anymore.
