Ok, running into some graphical issues when the notebook gets hot. I'm getting massive frame drops in call of duty 4 and crysis. When I cold boot it up from a long rest everything runs super fast and smooth. Once the laptop starts getting hot and the fan kicks in is where the frames start dropping. Anyone know how I can confirm if the card is defective?

Ok, so temps are reaching around 91'C at the highest during the ntune stability test. The test is winding down now and the temps are dropping. Currently at 80'C. Can anyone confirm if the quadro 770m's have the same heating defects?

Ok, so maybe it's a driver issue. The game runs fine at times with high temps and sometimes is crawls...I'm going to download some new drivers and see if they make a difference.

Yeah, I think it's a false alarm. Seems like a memory issue more than a gpu issue. Happens mostly in high density scenes. Gonna keep a look out for it for the next few days to see how everything works, but if anyone experiences anything with the new 770m cards, please respond to this post and give us your results.

No problems with heat related slowdowns here cpaek72,highest temp I've seen is 77 deg c after playing bioshock for about four hours.
I'm still using the OEM driver.

2 things I did after I received mine was upgrade to vista and download the latest drivers from laptop2go. Are you sure your card only goes up to 77'c?

Mmmm, now you mention it.....thought I adjusted offset in I8kfangui to match ntune temps the other day, obviously not because it was 7 deg C out......so make that 84 deg C max.

I wonder how the FX 1700M is going to cope... That's still pretty hot for a gpu... i would have expected idling 50-60c

Was wondering that myself when I originally saw the fan size.[about the FX1700M]

I don't think 84 deg C is all that hot,my vostro gets hotter......an old M60 with FX1000 go quadro used to go up to 100,inspiron 8600 with M10 up to 96,XPS M1730 into the low 80's even with its huge amount of cooling..........but I agree,it will be interesting to see how the FX 1700M gets on.

My GPU is currently idling at 55 deg C[after temp correction]sitting on my lap,the fan seems to seldom come on unless you stress it,or have powermizer disabled.

This notebook has very low feet, and when on a hard surface, probably isn't getting much in the way of airflow underneath,I'm still reasonably happy with the temps I'm seeing given the good performance in a pretty thin notebook.
