I don't have any problems, but I wouldn't expect my machine to handle 16AA at ALL. But the games I play are smooth, fast, etc...no problems with anything...fan, harddrive noise.

I went through a similar situation with the C90s...where some people couldn't use their wireless card on battery, yet I could because I replaced my 4965 card with a new one, and voila....wasn't C90 design at all, but rather intel ran a mixed batch of those wireless cards and I happened to get one that was tested with the C90 prior...some good, some bad...makes me wonder about these complaints about 'downclocking'...but no one believed me on the ASus boards, but it wasn't my funeral so,....:D :D

So A02 keeps the fans quieter than A03?

    Thx.

A02 and A03 gave me about the same results.

I'm on A03 and it is working well for me. My lappy shipped with A11, but I was definitely having a problem with the cooling.

I have a dumb newbee question regarding how to install the A03 bios.

How exactly is this done? Do I just need to download the A03 bios from Dell and click the install button which will automatically load itself? Does anything else need to be deleted, reset or reloaded in order to accomplish this?

I'm looking to purchase a refurbished m4400 from Dell, and want to make sure that I will able to do this task (so I can play my simulation games without the gpu downclocking).

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Best regards.

There is a link to all the Bios versions for the M4400 in the M4400 owner's lounge section of this forum.
Simply download the firmware you want, run it, and the computer will simply reboot and flash the firmware in DOS mode. All of this is done automatically once you run the installer. You need to have both the battery and AC power connected or else the program will refuse to flash the Bios.
    Good luck.
