I just ordered an M4400...already put specs in sig below...but, I opted not for the backlit keyboard and now having seconds thoughts...Do you think it's worth the 50 bucks? How is it in use?

    thanks

i use mine in dark rooms all the time, so its useful to me. I think only you can answer your question, because well....its a backlit keyboard.....i think that describes it use pretty simply...so can you think of any use you will have in low light situations?

if your personal use dosent need it, then whatever anyone else says is worthless!

I have no regrets paying for it. I will prob not buy another laptop that does not offer it now.

I don't see why you wouldn't unless you were really wanting to pinch your pennies. Adds some really cool flair IMO, and is useful for night-time use.

I have used a MacBook Pro late at night and it makes typing MUCH easier in the dark (which is extraordinarily useful when in a college dorm).

But, you don't lose a lot without it, so I'd say your choice was sound. :)

I absolutely love it. I have to confess i got it mainly cause i thought it would look nice but now i'm missing it whenever i'm using my old laptop or on any other comp really, even in normal light conditions the keys just stand out much better.
