Looking for Dell P/N 430-3099 (E-Module, External)

Well, it took the Dell tech guys a few hour to confirm my suspicion that this item
is what I'm thinking about.
Only 219 is pretty expensive for 120 GB...
So, checking ebay and waiting for chinese knockoffs

 

1,8" are expensive.
The drives pop up from time to time - someone from here snagged one for about 100$.

it says it's 12.7mm, the connectors look the same as the ones the e-module bay takes, can anybody confirm? thanks...

 

No, it will not work. The E Module bay in the E series is 9.5mm, not 12.7mm.

 

ahh thanks for that, any idea whether 9.5mm blu ray drives exist?

 

BR drives are available for the Lenovo laptops, and as far as I remember they also use the slim line (9.5 mm) drives.

 

I think they do, but they're not widey available. I think Lenovo does offer them though, and they use 9.5mm, so I guess they do exist.
