Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere, but I just checked the dell site today and noticed that in the US, at least, both the E series and M series have dropped significantly in price.

E6400 starts at $879 instead of $1100ish, and the M2400 and 4400 are about $200 less.

Dell has new deals every week (Start on Thurdays and ends on Wednesdays).

Last week, Precision M4400 had an instant savings of $346 and Dell threw in a free 19" FP Widescreen Display.

So this week's saving seems worse than last week's deal. Systems I configure this week have the same price but WITHOUT the free 19" Display - so swhere's the price drop. I don't see it.

I now have an E6400 on the way. Decent config for $1299 + tax.

I know that I was lucky to get a good rep, since I'm in Canada and there hasn't been a price drop, but the arguement I had was the US prices, and it worked, he was $98 more expensive than the new prices in the states.

    Woot.

It's not like the M2400 was available last week with $300 off and a free monitor, only the 4400, which I have zero interest in.

The base prices did drop, however, especially on the E6400/M2400. Obviously you're not getting the extras on the M4400 now, but if you don't need another 19" monitor, then paying more for the machine last week was pointless too, wasn't it?

Last week's price with a monitor = this week's price without a monitor

    So where's the benefit??

You know, I had already conceded the point, but since you seem to enjoy trying to smack down someone who was just trying to let other people know about the price changes to the base cost, I'll just avoid posting on these forums at all, anymore.

    Congrats.

Don't be so sensitive. I'm not trying to "smack you down"...indeed I was trying to make sure thee wasn't something I missed.

I'm sorry if I offended you.
