    Hi there,
i'm a proud owner of a Dell Latitude E6510, got mine a week ago. So far everything is ok, no problems what so ever. Yesterday i recieve my portable hard drive, it's USB/eSATA combo (Verbatim portable hard drive combo 500GB). Drive works fine when i connect it with usb, but when i try to use eSATA my OS (win 7 pro 64bit) cant see the device. I check the bios and eSATA port is enable, so what can be wrong?

Did you connect a power cable from a USB port? Unless the drive and cable support power through the eSATA/USB combo port, you need to use a separate power cable.

Drive has a power through eSATA support and so does the cable, well at least manual says so.

Yes I tried to connect it with eSATA and an additional power cable from USB, nothing seems to work. The only connection that works is with a single USB cable.

I was wondering, maybe intel rapid software has something to do with it?

I don't expect IRST to be the problem. First go through this list:

    (i) Does anything show up in Device Manager? (ii) Also look in disk management and see if the disk is there but needs assigning a letter. (iii) Also try pressing F12 while booting the computer with the eSATA HDD connected. Is the eSATA HDD listed as a boot device? (iv) If not, go into the BIOS setup and look for any eSATA options.

    Nothing there.

There is no available eSATA option for boot. In BIOS setup, the only thing with eSATA option is in System Conf->Miscellaneous Dev., and it's enable/disable check box.

I'm not sure where's the problem (drive/cable/notebook), nothing seems to work on my DELL. I just gonna try to plug it in, on some other laptop.

Hi,I love this machine, but I have a minor problem.

I hear a small but constant beeping sound coming out of the laptop. But the weird thing is when I put my earphones into the earphone jack, I hear the beeping sound from my earphones too.
I updated the soundcard drivers, and now I don't know how to fix this problem.

    specs:
    i7-720
    250gb hdd
    windows 7 prof. 32bit
    nvs 3100

    thank you!

Does it do the sound in the BIOS?
If not, then you have a program that does the sound
Can you provide a recording of it? You can set the default recording device in Windows, to Rec. Playback (Start > type: Sound - select Sound. A panel will open, then go to the Recording tab. Right-click on Rec. Playback, and select Set default device). Then record with Sound Recorder (built-in Windows) a few beeps and upload it somewhere (or compress it and put it here), for us to listen? Thanks.
If you have a different way of recording your computer sound output, then feel free to do it.
