Are you using XP instead of a proper modern OS and/or user some tweak program that broke your Windows?

    Excellent :D
Ok one problem at a time:

    Enable Hibernation:
    Preparation:
    - Ensure that you have the latest drivers for everything (motherboard drivers, SATA controller, video card, sound card, SD card reader, finger print reader, wired and wireless card, mouse and BIOS).
    - Ensure that your optical drive have the latest firmware.
    - Ensure that your BIOS is reset to default settings.
    - Have your SATA controller in your BIOS set to AHCI or IRRT.
    - If you open the device manage you should have no added yellow notification icon on the device icons.
    - Remove any peripherals including: external display, dock station, printer, scanner, mouse and keyboard.
    - Remove all startup programs and Restart your computer.

    What to do:

    • 1. Click Start, and then type cmd in the Search box.
      2. In the search results list, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as Administrator.
      3. At the command prompt, type powercfg.exe /hibernate on, and then hit the ENTER key.

Now restart your computer, and see if any progress occurred.

fn+left arrow works excellent out when im out of windows or in the login screen
So either Vista is messing with it with its power settings or DCP is at fault.

    Any ideas?
    Hibernation isnt present at all
No notifications like last time i had to reinstall DCP
Adaptive Display/ Light sensor Isnt working properly in windows

    Excellent, now onto problem 2.

If you restore your system back in time to that point, yes your hibernation won't work anymore. However you can still restore (or view) older files & folders without any problem (last feature mentioned is for Vista Business edition or higher only).

    Ok:
    - uninstall all Dell utilities, such as Dell DCP, and restart your computer.
    - Get Ccleaner (free), and clean up your registry to remove any left over data from Dell utilities (we want to remove old settings)
    - Download and install this (Dell DCP): Drivers and Downloads
    - Downlaod and install this (ambient light sensor): Drivers and Downloads

Restart your computer and everything should be working.
If teh ambient light sensor doesn't work, make sure you have the latest Intel/Nvidia drivers from DELL web site.

Alright DCP is fixed for now...
Well see how much it lasts

    So hows the 9cell lasting?
Can express charge make any harm at all to the battery? Can it shorten the lifespan?
