My power indicator flashes continuously when the laptop is put to sleep. I think it's supposed to. My father's E6400 does the same.

Flash power light on a PC indicate that the computer is sleeping. This is normal.
As for it stop flashing, that is because the computer while it's a sleep, hibernates, so that the system doesn't empty the battery while sleeping for extended amount of time. This option can be changed in the power option control panel.

exactly. while in the sleeping mode laptops still works and drains your battery.
If you put it into hibernation (it takes 30 sec more to wake up) laptop completely switches off and writes everything, which is in the ram to hard drive.
I like to hibernate my laptop.
    I use vista os

You are double correct, as I mentioned it all in the power options.
The technology of hibernating while the system is sleeping is new to Vista and improved in Windows 7.

I recently flashed my BIOS to A24 and then decided that I wanted to do a reformat of my HD. I inserted my W7 x64 disk and booted as usual, but when I got to the Windows setup screen it asked for a driver disk. I told it to search the W7 disk that I had in there, but it didn't find anything and wouldn't advance until I had the drivers it was requesting. It didn't specify anything and I have never had to do this before. The only change in my system that I can think of is the BIOS. Anybody have any idea what this might be, or has anybody else had the same problem?

1- Load your BIOS default settings (it's a button on the button next to the Apply one)
    2- Set SATA to AHCI
    3- Try again

It should work, not that I tried it under BIOS A24.

    I have an E6400
    Windows 7 64
I have the Nvidia 160M video card.
    Using a Panasonic Viera TH-42PX80U

I purchased a Displayport to HDMI converter. When I purchased the laptop in January I plugged in the converter and my HDMI cable. It worked fine.

Now, I have all the latest drivers and now the video works fine but the audio does not work on the TV. The Digital or HDMI audio does not show up in my audio options like it used to.

This has happened to my laptop and my parent's laptop. Same setup.
Does anyone need more info, if so ask me.

Is anyone else having this problem?

What is wrong with my system?

    Thanks in advance.

IDT (sound card chip) decided to pull the plug on supporting audio via Display port. A fix is to uninstall the sound card drivers, and restart your computer. It should be going to Microsoft generic drivers. Once there you audio on Display Port will be available. If the IDT drivers installs back after restart, go to the device manager, and go to the sound card, and right-click on it, select uninstall. A dialog box will appear asking you if you are sure you want to uninstall, and also have a check box to delete the drivers, check that box and click on "Yes" button. Once done, restart your computer.
