    I need Factory Image.

Vista for Testing i have. I wish all the original-settings, like the book was, when bought 5 years before.
If it gets the original settigs, i know the SD-Reader is o.k. or not. Then i know, it is worth to put more time in finding the problem with win7 or win8.

Or does anybody know an other way to test the SD-Reader?
As i published, it is shown in Device-Manager, but nothing happens, if i put in any SD (wich all work in other Readers).
This problem i read more than one time in google (about e6400), so i hope it is no hardwaredefect.

    bye,

    Problem localized:

It is (was) a contacterror. If i put a SD-card very deep in the reader, it will be recocniced, than i let it snap in. Most times it funktions, now.
If i can easy extract the reader, i am able to clean and flex the contacts. But i don´t wish to open the whole case. In service-manual it seems to be very complicated.

    bye,

Probably in the Control Point Security pack, which I don't have installed on our E6400 image. I'll give it a look if you can't find it, though.

EDIT: This is assuming this feature didn't become vaporware, like the E6400 4-Cell or Latitude ON...

I had this feature ONCE when I was installing various versions of control point. I have no idea in which version it was included.

I downloaded the control point security software provided from the drivers page. Doesn't mention anything like it..

    OCZ Vertex 4 UPGRADE

    Hi

I am planning to replace my hard drive ( WD2500BJKT-75F4T0) with OCZ VERTEX 4 128GB.
I wonder if Verterx 4 is not too thick (height: 9,3 mm) and fits into drive space?

Basically you're telling me it's a normal drive, and since the E6400 will take normal sized drives, it will fit.

Last June, the display on my E6400 failed and I had a very difficult time locating an identical replacement (LG Philips 1440x900). I had already bought an E6420 from the Outlet earlier in the year and didn't like it, so I sold it on Ebay. Unable to find a new display for my E6400, I panicked and ordered a ThinkPad T430s.

Two days after ordering the new ThinkPad, a supplier managed to locate a very slightly used display for my E6400 for under $100. I bought it and installed it when it arrived a few days later. I ordered a Samsung SSD to install on the T430s, but instead installed it my now-functional E6400...

Almost eight months later, the $1000 ThinkPad is still in the box and my E6400 is going strong! I've had it for just over four years and it has its share of battle scars, scratches and dings. But I can't make myself give it up....

Do I need therapy? Or is my attachment to my E6400 harmless???
