Our 5570 and USB-C dock arrived yesterday. The laptop has no Type-C (or Thunderbolt) ports. I was really wanting to move away from the USB3.0 Dock, and I hate to keep buying the Dell E-Port Replicator if their time is limited.

I heard from a Dell rep on their support forums that the 5570 with Thunderbolt 3 should be available in Canada, and presumably the U.S., starting today. He said it may not immediately show up on the website and to contact the sales department to order.

The option was probably there when I ordered this, but I didn't look in video options for it. Type C is one of the Radeon cards, which then makes you order the i7 CPU, which makes you order a 6 cell battery and 90 Watt power adapter.

That's correct. I suppose I can take a screen shot if it's still useful.

...but USB-C can be just plain USB 3.1 without the additional signalling allowed by Thunderbolt (e.g. Displayport and/or PCI-E.)

I now have a Latitude E5570 with a USB-C / Thunderbolt port sitting on my desk. I can confirm that it is able to put out 1080p DisplayPort signals, and connect to, communicate with and charge a Nexus 5X - at a surprisingly decent speed, 1.8A. I haven't tested a 4k monitor yet, probably on Monday. It does seem to be having trouble with bus powered hard drives on a hub - almost like it isn't providing power correctly to those. Still playing with it though. Also using Windows 10 for the first time, so that adds a little confusion, I can't quite find what I want half the time.

Update: the bus powered drives are working fine now. I chatted with Dell, but it fixed itself. Speculating a driver failed to load at first, but no clear answer. It worked fine across a reboot now though.

Does you laptop produce electric noise like this one?

I want to buy this laptop, but I don't want to encounter such failure.
I hope that coil whine was fixed in a new revision of motherboards with Thunderbolt 3 support.

hey, mine doesn't have thunderbolt 3. there's an annoying and loud coil whine when it's connected to ac, from the dgpu and from the ac adapter itself. i had it for a few days now. it's a bit quieter but still present.
weirdest thing. i still didn't get the final approval, but i only needed to call dell once and say that "it gets very hot, and there is an electrical noise coming from the computer when it's connected to ac". they offered to replace it without even sending a technician.
my advice is that you will be better of if you'll buy it from a store with a good return policy, that will back you up in case that dell won't. and take under your consideration that there's a good possibility that you'll need to spend more time and efforts if you'll need to send it back.

No coil whine for me - I watched that video, and have experienced nothing like it. I have the i7-6820HQ, with an SSD and the USB-C/TB3 port, and the computer is silent most of the time. The only exception is when I ran Heavy Load to stress test the CPU at 100% - that caused the fan to spin up, but even that is fairly quiet and not whiny at all.

Which countries are e5570 with thunderbold available in? Could anyone post a picture showing this laptop with tb3 port visible, please? I'd need that as a proof that such config exists, for my shop. I've ordered one which was supposed to have a TB3 port, but the one I actually received lacks it.

Ask and you shall receive! I got my E5570 with TB3 off Ebay refurbished for $800. So far, I couldn't be more pleased with this laptop.
