    nice!

    - that ethernet port barely fits! is that a mini / micro SD card ? lame.... full size or bust...

    - bezels def look thinner on the sides (i wonder what the 1440P touch version will look like),

    - im liking the a la macbook hinge, and finally no ports in the back

    - is that two front facing cameras ?,

    - fingerprint reader worth it ? the one in my 7470 isnt.

    - touchpad seems a little taller, still plastic it seems?

    - I see the LTE / WWAN port, but not available to configure yet. waiting on that before i pull the trigger.

    - how does the battery life feel?

    - weird Kensington lock port.

    congrats! thanks for sharing!

Yeah the fingerprint reader on a laptop is complete and utter crap. How do they build a $300 phone with an instant response FP reader, while a $2000 laptop has something that's the equivalent of a medieval lock? I've been complaining to our reps from HP, Lenovo and Dell for years, and they keep doing this ****.

    @FeelingLucky
    • Is that a mini / micro SD card: micro
    • is that two front facing cameras: windows hello camera -- works well. webcam functionality is average (720p)
    • fingerprint reader worth it: scanner is hit or miss, rather use windows hello with face (and not DDP)
    • touchpad seems a little taller, still plastic it seems: yes, feels like plastic. It's accurate though.
    • I see the LTE / WWAN port, but not available to configure yet. waiting on that before i pull the trigger: we got another one coming with the WWAN cables (not compatible with Windows Hello camera -- not sure if no room in bezel or what). The plan is to pull the card out of our 6230.
    • how does the battery life feel: sitting idle at 93% - 11hrs 33min according to Windows
    - I will say that the screen on this, which is the regular anti-glare / non-touch / 1080p screen, is the best screen I've ever seen on a non-tablet/phone. I'm really impressed. No light bleed like previous versions.
    - Speakers are nice too. Good volume.
    - Keyboard is fine.
    - A little concerned about it having only one USB Type-C port in case it wears out due to docking station use. The test will come obviously after the 5 year warranty is up.
    - Do wish the docking solution was thought through more.

    Overall, nice, classic laptop.

    Thanks for the pictures.

What is your experience with the WD15 dock
-Do you use with multiple screens?
-Is there any flickering or flashing after connection or after a few minutes of use (i get this on my eport dock)
-Is the response good and how does it work with the power button on the dock (i.e. turning on without opening laptop lid)

After looking at the pics I am more and more thinking I am going to go with Precision 5520 due to the bezels. I don't need camera or wwan but would appreciate the thin bezel.

    • Do you use with multiple screens: not with this setup.
    • Is there any flickering or flashing after connection or after a few minutes of use (i get this on my eport dock): I haven't tried multiple screens yet, but I get the flashing with my U2415 plugged into a custom PC, so that flashing might just be due to the monitors.
    • Is the response good and how does it work with the power button on the dock (i.e. turning on without opening laptop lid): Response seems fine. When you plug the WD15 dock into the laptop with the USB Type-C cable, it turns on. A light on the cable is lit when the dock has power and it's plugged into the laptop (regardless if laptop is on).

Is it just me, or does the inside of the laptop seem kinda cheaply put together? Like sloppy, messy, not well thought through...

I need an Ethernet port, so if I am not mistaken the Precision and XPS series are no good for me... ?

Dongles.... Might still be worth it to look at those laptop series if the other specs/price is right

Some of the precision ships with the dongle as well
