    OK Guys I got the SATA III SSD Installed and OMG is it fast. I can boot up this laptop into Windows 8 in about 10 sec from a cold boot. A Youtube video will follow!

    @Yourstrulyxx - Oh man! I was really hoping that I could get a docking station for this thing! The Lenovo Thinkpads at work have me so spoiled with their docking stations that I wanted one for home. But we will never get specs like this (the graphics card) in a Thinkpad.

    Wow, I have been out sick with pneumonia. It looks like this thread is dead now.. That is sad :(.

    I will start posting more videos on my Youtube Channel once I get some time. I hope you all are enjoying your laptops! I am going to download Rivatuner and MSI Afterburner to see how this 8850M overclocks.

    ^ Sorry to hear about your pneumonia. That must hurt.

    Wow an SSD. I want one too!

    Sometime this week, I'll be hooking up an audio recording interface to this lappy and seeing how it handles buffers and lantencies.

    Looks like a 12 second boot up time, right? That's pretty impressive. Any difference in battery life, noise, or performance when running a program?

    Earlier last month I mentioned that I was going to hook up an audio recording interface and test how it runs. Hooked up an older Digidesign Mbox 2 and fired up an old version of Pro Tools 8, and then proceeded to install a bunch of plugins. I didn't notice any latency issues or buffering lag. The only part that irked me was the long loading times to start up Pro Tools 8 (and its plugins library). Maybe an SSD would make everything load up faster. Otherwise, the program and the hardware ran smoothly with no issues.

    Yeah just about with the BIOS screen. There is a large difference with application perofrmance instart up time but not much else. The deive that comes with this laptop is a Western Digital Caviar Blue spinning at 5400 rpm. This is a really slow drive and the SSD mamkes a big difference. One thing to mention is if you are noticing that the laptop has random bouts of slowness you should look at repasting the CPU and GPU. Mine was refurbished and had too much on it. I replaced the old stiff with MX-5 and it barely reaches the thermal limit now.

    @OP

    What are you planning on doing with the Precision M4400? That's the machine I have been wanting for a very long time because it's relatively powerful for my needs and features the nice dual ccfl or rgled lcd at 16:10 instead of 16:9 which just makes baby jesus cry.

    I just bought one refurbished from the Dell Outlet for $525 shipped. Should have it by the 19th. I'm looking forward to this unit. Has anyone flashed the new A05 bios that was released 4 days ago?

    I am curious on the throttle issues...sounds like a repaste of the cooler is in order. I have some AC MX-4 ready to go.

    Nope not yet but I will gove it a shot. If you bought yours refurb I would look at repasting anyways. Mine came with way too much paste.
