Just curious- anyone still using a Latitude E6400 or E6410?

My work-around for making 16:9 more usable is to put the task bar on the left side so the full display height is available for my use.

I personally don't have an E6400/E6410 right now, but I do have a cheaper E5510 as my portable workhorse, as well as desktop replacement when I'm at home, just plug it to the docking station and it's done.
I've upgraded the memory, replaced the original 1366x768 screen with a 1600x900 one and hard-wired the mobo to light up the retro-fitted backlit keyboard, which made it more in line with the E6510.
It's slightly outdated hardware-wise but it's still very usable till this day, well except gaming. Mine is running Win 10 Pro Build 1607.

Also quoting what I've said before:
I did fix two E6410 before and they're clearly better equipped than my E5510 (WWAN slot, backlit keyboard, full metal chassis etc), but E5510 has a bigger screen (I'm moderately short-sighted) and I'm not gonna sell my Franken-Latitude so I never tried one extensively. Nevertheless I'm planning to buy a E6410 with NVS 3100M, refurbish it and gift it to a family member, let's see how it goes.

My workaround is to auto-hide the task bar, works better to me as I'm more used to having task bar at the bottom.

A 6410 I got from my last job (bough August 2010) is my current personal machine. It is in great shape. Added 4gb of ram to make it 8 and a 256 gb Samsung SSD. Was being used mostly with web apps with Ubuntu 14.10. Super fast, comfortable and great battery life. Last night I installed W10 LTSB, will see how that goes.
