Has anyone received an RGBLED NON-Covet M6400? Is it matte finish?

    Hello guys,

    Dell is finally starting to help me out as far as the screen glossiness and some other issues I've been having.

    Before I tell them what parts I need in a replacement, I need to know if the M6400 RGBLED screen (not the Covet) is matte finish?

    I'd really appreciate it - I can't trust their sales staff to actually know. My gut instinct would be that the E2E RGBLED screen is glossy, while the other is matte... but I don't want to replace my glossy with another glossy!

    You're right, the non E2E version is a matte screen.

    RGB-LED has nothing to do with E2E :rolleyes:

    There are 2 RGB-LED backlit screens:
    1) WUXGA RGB-LED matte
    2) WUXGA RGB-LED E2E (has a glass plate --> glossy)

    On the covet M6400 there is only the 2) option available.

    E2E is fancy terms for they put a pane of glass in front of it so you can see your face while you work.

    Thanks for the verification. I have a replacement on its way for the Covet (for a variety of reasons) and when it gets here I'll take screen pics showing the two RGBLED screens side by side.

    No clue. All I know is that it's on super-secret invisible greased ninja expedite. Which means sometime in the next two months.

    Cool. It'll be interesting to see if the glass actually has any effect other than to generate reflections and save the screen from damage/dirt

    Yeah I'm actually looking forward to seeing them side by side, even if I went through weeks of laptop fail to get there...

    I don't think the damage / dirt will be a problem for me. My last laptop was matte screen with the direct surface exposed. I carried it all over the place and it's still in perfect condition after 4 years. (But the laptop itself sucks...)

    I'm very curious to see those two screens side by side. Hope you make same pictures when the non E2E covet arrives. :)
