I can't remember if it's the same size as the screws to mount the 2.5" SSDs, but I did have screws laying around from when I re-cased my M6500 the second time around (yes, I dropped it TWICE)...

I see that Dell have two 1TB SSD's:

    1. 1TB 2.5 inch High Performance SATA Solid State Drive [add $999.00]
    2. 1TB M.2 PCIe NVMe Solid State Drive [add $1,079.00]

Is the m.2 PCIe disk the fastet or recommended 1TB of those two options? My first thought is the m.2, but I'm unsure since it missing the "High Performance" text.

What a silly question. All PCIe-NVMe drives are much faster than any SATA drive.

1 TB M.2 PCIe NVMe is the faster one, the fastest one is High Performance, but only 512 GB.

Does anyone have performance numbers of two Samsung 950 Pro in Raid 0 versus just one Samsung 950 Pro on a 7710?

Is Raid 0 double the performance of just one drive?

Is the performance improvement noticeable for normal (not specialized or highly demanding) computer usage?

I would say the performance of two such drives in Raid 0 will be theoretically higher, but I can't think of any application where the difference would be usable. Definitely not with the normal usage, these drives have crazy read/write speeds alone.
I have actually bought two 950's, awaiting for Thunderbolt to be available with 7710 to order, I definitely will _not_ be putting them in RAID, for a simple reason - should one drive fail in RAID 0, I will loose all the data. So, if you ask me, RAID 0 with those drives is simply not worth the risk.

Bokeh had numbers for SM951 which has specs almost as high as 950 pro: http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...ision-7000-series.787370/page-2#post-10197042

He spoke of well above 3000mb/s, while a single SM951 is speced as ~2100mb/s. So it seems it does not double performance.

I have used Raid 0 with SATA SSDs in my M6700, M6500 and M6400 for many years and have never had any issues with the Raid 0. However, the performance enhancement was obvious.

I did always have a backup in case

Thank you SvenC for Bokeh's link. Those figures indicate a performance improvement that I find significant enough to go for Raid 0.
