I have one last suggestion....something I've had work in a similar situation. Boot with driver signing disabled but don't start the Nvidia install. Go to device manager and choose update the card, choose have disk and work through that until you can select the modified inf you (if you use mine you'd choose M4000m once you get to the list of cards, with yours just GTX 970m of course) have created. Often even though the Nvidia installer can't do it you can get the driver installed that way. When there are multiple selections of the same card it's possible you get a crappy display...if it does that just repeat the process (going down the list) till you get a good display ........

This connects to the text of a custom dispi.inf recommended for your card. This link goes to a page devotd to the GTX 970m upgrade in a M6800 which also discusses reflashing and the resources to do so. I sincerely hope that helps.

That what folk do on this forum, Aaron helped me in a similar way. I'm really happy it worked out. As a side note, I've found a firm (with a good reputation) that will reball my P5000 for a fraction of the replacement cost .......life am good :)

I'm going to repeat this post on the other forum I frequent here. After the windows 10 update on the 31st my 965m started throwing a code 43 error and not functioning correctly. I reinstalled drivers...no help I used DDU for a totally clean reinstall.... still code 43. I rolled back the update and the card instantly started working correctly..... I hope no one else goes through this.....but perhaps this may help if they do.

Just a note here....... I'm seeing Quadro K3000m's regularly sell for under 40 bucks on ebay.......that is a tremendous price for performance thing and they work for M6800's, 8740w's ...practically anything ... K5000m's are still above 200 so not near as good a deal ...... especially since the performance is one is a bit better than a GTX 660mx and the K5000M is more like a GTX 680MX ...

Do recall that NVIDIA was still artificially capping the clock speeds of the Quadro cards for some reason back in this generation...
For example, GeForce 680M is 720 MHz but Quadro K5000M is 600 MHz (otherwise the specs are the same).
On the plus side, Kepler Quadros are rather easy to overclock by big margins, have fun :)
