is Dell going to offer free screen replacement? Why so quiet? why is the point of the pro warranty if they dont work like a professional?

because i hear the old screen panel has refresh sync problem which make the gpu not go into idle more.
dell should pro active and advise affected customer exchange procedures...i want them technicians to come down and replace on spot..this design flaw is non acceptable imo.

no it is hardware panel problem. cannot be fixed with graphics drivers...
Dell is dragging their feets to see whether reimburse affected customers or keep quiet and let the noise die down....will the noise ever die down??

same issue here, what's killing me is the unnecessary noise every few seconds, see sreen attached

    1. red line - normal work (power play enabled)
    2. green line - power play disabled
    3. red line - normal work again
    4. yellow line - cooling hanged on constant work...

whole test took like 5-6 minutes so you can imagine how often this cooler goes up and down during regular working day

so this awesome laptop can't go to any meeting with me.. first time I tried I had to turn it off in shame

    Hi,

I want to buy a M4600, but with the problems here, I'm not sure whether it is better to take quadro1000?

    What about the problem.
Is it permanent or just noisy from time to time.
What it has to do with the idle mode, does ist works now, because that's all on the attery.

If idle works, the noise should be gone? Is it the problem of the screen?

    THX.

even when idle is working fine the noise is still there because fan stop completely for 1-2 minutes (depends on your office temperature) and then rapidly spin up

only difference is that without idle working spin up/down happens every 15-20 seconds being more annoying
