You should update your software. Part of the update also takes care of the firmware upgrade if needed. Have you tried all the options that are in the Embassy Wave Suite?

I gave someone in the E4300 thread similar advice. Have you tried everything as mentioned here?

Thanks for all the help everyone, and thank you monakh, i went through the link that you provided and figured that resetting the password in the system to null and then setting it and setting it to null again finally disabled the fingerprint reader during pre-boot authorization.

I am having the same problem on my Samsung X360 with Authentec pre boot authentication. I also reformated the OS a few times and it seems that it's connected to the BIOS now. How do I remove it? Thanks!

Did you try the link provided? mine was related to the fact that i still had an active sytem password and i had to go into the BIOS, reset the system password to null, then set it to a new password, and then set to null again, and after that,it would not ask for fingerprint. What else have you done to disable? Not sure Samsung has the same software as Dell.

Have you disabled or reset all of your passwords in the BIOS and not have any password? Do you have embassy security suite software? you could try to disable it in that software if you have it.

I have tried to clear all passwords in BIOS which didn't help. The software is useless and I tried reformatting the OS a few times with no luck. The preboot authentication is tied to the BIOS.

I am not familiar with the X360's pre-boot authentication procedure. It may or may not be similar to Dell's but the key thing is that you need to set the password to null in order to get it to reset.
