Absolutely no response? Out of interest, PM me what you sent to Dell if you want to :) . Failing that, send a letter (i.e. hard copy/paper) addressed to Michael Dell and send it to Dell HQ in Round Rock. I've had to do that in the past with HP.

Zero response. I even decided to try talking to the dellcarespro on twitter, but their escalation person is the same lady I dealt with on my failed BBB complaint.

Christ, Dell is giving you a bloody hard time veekay. :(

I wonder if your email didn't make it through the Dell spam filters or something, that might explain the lack of response. Either that - or they automatically reject all non-Dell correspondence.

No, Maria Cruz was my lady.

I thought about the spam filters and might resend it from my work email instead. It just figures though since I tried both what you did and what Forge did and had no luck. I shouldn't have to try so hard to be kept as a future customer.

Does anyone know if the LCD's from the E6540's are compatible with the E6520's?

I have someone willing to swap their panel for mine.

I have 1366x768 and they have 1920x1080. Both are matte LCD's.

    Thanks!

Temetka - About 90% confident. The E6530, E6540, and M4800 are all cross-compatible for LCD swaps.

One thing to keep in mind, though: On my E6530, when I swapped from the crap 768p panel to the 1080p one, I got a weird picture, like it was interlaced. Picture was fine horizontally, but every other line was dark vertically.

Needed to order the HD+/FHD top panel and LVDS cable to run a 900p or 1080p panel. After I did that, all was good, though. Cost me about 30-40$ in addition to the cost of the panel, IIRC.

Wouldn't the machine I am swapping from have the correct cable? I was thinking i'd be able to swap the LCD and cable.

If you're moving the LVDS cable as well, then sure. The routing might be different, though, and the LVDS cable is annoying to unroute/reroute. Also fragile.

By all means, go at it, have fun. Just wanted you fully informed of what could go wrong.
