I am still surprised they went away from including a business class GPU and opting for something mainstream. Previously it would have included a Quadro or Firepro card.

Someone on the Dell forum is sending theirs to the depot, we'll see what comes of that. I'm letting them schedule an in house service for mine

Weird. I just randomly was asked to complete a survey from Dell on the E6540. Did anybody else get this?

More testing would be good. Especially from other people. So far, I'm the only who actually has proof that their specific machine is having this problem. I need help proving that mine isn't a lemon.

Which method of contact did you initiate for the service call?

They asked me to send it to the depot like 3 or 4 times on Twitter private message. I flat out told them no every time and finally he came back and said they'd schedule a service call

Nice. Do keep us updated on the progress. I too was finally offered a service call. However, I'm inclined to wait a bit and see what unfolds.

Did you both only contact via Twitter or did you also try the actual Dell support email?

The Twitter support people are pretty useless (tried to use them for order status in the past), give them a call.

Call Technical Support | Dell US

In the UK I got though to someone in the country; given that it's business support I'd expect a national call centre of some sorts.

EDIT: Forgot to ask - if there are Steam users in this thread, does anyone else notice that the display has some issues with banding when displaying the Steam chat window (green/pixel grid)? I've noticed it when the chat window is maximised.

Can you screenshot it? If it doesn't capture through a screenshot, it is likely the problem is physical with the LCD panel. Btw, this panel SUCKS... Probably the worst LCD I've had in a notebook in the last 7 years. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOHod_MC8kM
