LGD0214 for the panel hardware id.

I've not taken a picture of the internals yet, a bit time constrained lately.

@GKDesigns No, hadnt looked in E6420 thread. Thanks for that tip. Still helpful to know how the typical E6520 slots are populated, and which 1600x900 lcdpanels being used by Dell

Can someone tell me if the keys have a traditional plastic coating/feel to them, or are they a metallic/slick feel? I have a Latitude D630 (traditional plastic coating on the keys). I did not like the E6400 keys...the seemed too slick to me. I need at least some "grip" to them for me to type my best.

    Thanks.

it does have the traditional black coating on them. i have enjoyed this laptop very much. it meets all my expectations for business and travel. i have noticed that right about my mouse pad there is a slight bulge, but other than that this computer is lightning fast. i just have the i5 4gigs ram upgraded graphics. everything runs extremely cool and the screen looks amazing. 1920x1080. i do like the olde box design a little better, but this one is growing on me. i get complements on the it quite about in the business lounge. i have the 9 cell battery and it is kind of heavy, but we all are not 15yo girls i don't mind it one bit.

These are the 'errors' i get. Still no solution though...
The first three items I checked out under device manager and it says that the operation system is allowed to power down these devices!

I really don't understand what's going wrong with this laptop. This morning I woke up and saw that the LED of a USB-key was on. I noticed a lot of heat coming out of the laptop and opened the lid. The screen was dark, but the power indicator was on. When I pressed it, it powered down.
I'm absolutely sure I powered down the laptop when I went to sleep. The ac-adapter was connected for charging. Somehow the laptop powered on during the night.

Some advice? Already ran the diagnostic tool with no errors.
    Thanks

Check the system log of Event Viewer (under computer management) to see if anything (such as software updates) woke the computer during the night. You can set the properties of some devices in Device Manager to allow / disallow them to wake the computer.

Event logger doesn't show anything. All our laptops are secured with a system and an admin password, so the system can't startup without user interaction.
In BIOS system logs there a no traces of this 'auto-boot' (I should have checked this earlier, I think it only keeps track of the last 6 boot events?). Also no devices are allowed to boot the computer (I checked this thoroughly in the bios).

Concerning the sleep issue, it tried removing both admin and system paswords, but no solution there.

Which screen is it? There are three different screens available with the E6520, and all have different resolutions and maximum brightnesses. (1366x768 - 220nits, 1600x900 - 250nits, 1920x1080 - 300nits)
